Opening Day Mini Report

Weather -- Cool temperatures in the morning, warmed up in the afternoon, and was freezing by 8:00pm, forced us to leave before closing.

Got in early to Use Joe Cool, wasted on TTD, took 2 hours to get on from the end of the ramp near the station. Rollbacks on every car with only 6 people on the train. Running fine by the time I rode, no Rollback. :(

All the employees were wonderful, friendly. Met a couple of Pointbuzzers, spent some time with Zero-G. Nice to have someone to talk too while waiting 2 hours for TTD, (Glad you got your Rollback Zero)

Problems at the park, mainly guest, One person lost their cell phone on Skyhawk, and it landed about 10 feet behind me while I was waiting in line, Hit the ground HARD, No one was hit luckily, just STUPID!

Some guest spoke up to keep a lot of line jumping down.

I saw only about 4 smokers were not smoking in the designated smoking areas, but it seemed like most smokers were obeying the rules.

FOOD PRICES WERE OUTRAGOUS!! $8.25 for burger and fries, didn't buy em. Hotdog and Chips $4.29, but they had no chips available, and Hotdogs were gone by 6:00pm. Cotton Candy $2.75 a bag, far cry from 25 cents. Chick-fil-a Prices O.K.- $6.41 for a large chicken sandwich and Fries. Good Food Too.

TTD was running much better around 7:00pm, the sign said 2 hour wait, and I got on in 1 hour. Other wait times throughout the park were right on. Gemini 1/2 hour wait, got on in 20 minutes. Raptor 1 1/4 hours got on in 1 hour 10 min. MF 1 3/4 hour, got on in 1 1/2 hours.

I rode about 12 rides total on Opening Day, It was great to get back there, everything seemed to be running really good.

Overall, a wonderful Opening Day at Cedar Point! :)

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

sounds great! what were the lines like for MF? was wicked twister having any preoblems? Raptor?

Although the lines were filled past the vending machines, Guest were spacing themselves a good 2 feet between each other, so there was a constant pacing through the whole line, which is very tolerable compared to standing for 5 minutes, moving 5 feet, standing 5 minutes, moving 5 feet and so on.

Wicked Twister shut down only one time while I was waiting, for about 5 minutes. At first I thought it was a cleaning problem, They moved the Empty train forward just out of the station, Pulled it back to the station, and started loaded, No idea what that was about, When I first got in line, I thought WT was running slow, and not going up the spikes as high as normal. It seemed random on how high it would go, sometimes it looked like it went WAY higher than normal, almost hitting the safety stop at the top.

Raptor Lines were completly filled, but again, It moved, the amount of people Raptor can kick out is amazing. The Music was cranked up, but no DJ, which helped make the wait seem a lot shorter than it was. You can preview about 10 seconds of your video in the Photo booth. $19.99 for a video of 2 seats. A "FAMILY Pack" whatever that is for $39.99

That's great to hear. I can't wait to get up there this summer. :)

It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.

I was there and I ran to twister first. It was down in the morning (would've been on the first train), but I got a ride later in the day. It was packed.

TTD said 45 minutes when I got in line, and it took almost 2.5 hours to get on due to the contant rollbacks.

Raptor seemed to be running fine the whole day. The new video recordings are sweet. It's fun to watch the really scared people hond on like they will die if they don't, and seeing their facial expressions is awesome.

It was a fun day, even though I only got in eight rides.

I'm going back thursday, hopefully to a empty park!

Thursday is Physics Day.

I'm planning to go to the park on Thursday, does Physics Day usually have a large turnout?

So these rollbacks, I assume they mean what I think they mean--that the ride doesn't make it up, and they have to relaunch. How common is that? Is it fun to be on the ride when that happens? Seems like it would be a hoot, since you get to experience the launch over and over, and you get that "will we make it" kind of tension.

Carlos.

PB-Reader: Yes, it was nice to chat in line for Dragster. I am glad that I finally got a rollback on Dragster. I was so excited, that I wouldn't be surprised if you could hear me yelling back at the station. :) I'm also glad that the cell phone didn't hit anyone.

LOL, you think food prices are outrageous at CP? Sure there bad, but SFGadv charges 11.00$ for a hamburger and fries, without any drink at all. ;)

All last year at the "Round Up" you got a Hot Dog and a French Fry for $3.99.

Cotton Candy was 25 cents.

Now they have Maverick Burgers and Fry for $8.25.

(Neither with a drink) That is Outrageous to me.

$11.00 I would starve (Actually I would bring my own food and eat in the car. :)
