(I like to plan out our whole day so we do everything we want to do and we don't come home saying, "oh we forgot to ride this and this or "we ran out of time to do such and such"). Plus I feel so much more efficient with a plan and with our family having to split up as dh and ds don't do thrill rides, pre-planning is MUCH easier.I do the same exact thing for the same reason! I only get to CP few times a season, if that..so I don't want to miss out on anything. I've realized though by planning everything it actually makes it less fun for everyone around me. lol. So I've tried to be more laid back on it and just decided what to do as we are doing it.
Well, my family actually likes the pre-planning. Less thinking for them LOL! They just ask me "what do we do now" and I tell them. I've usually researched things well enough that I can change plans on the fly without too much trouble if my DS decides he absolutely has to ride that antique car right now this minute or he will simply die.
I just don't care much for waiting in line. So if we can cover 3 rides in 1 hr by pre-planning and avoid 1 hr lineups at each of those 3 rides, then pre-planning was well worth it. If we just walk around like everyone else, then we'll end up waiting in line forever like everyone else and that's not my cup of tea.
It just didn't work out so well for me though on Sunday. Everything we planned to do was down. According to my plans, after a full circuit around the entire park we should have managed 7 or 8 rides - we managed 3.
My problem with going without a plan is that we tend to split up and it's hard to regroup. e.g. on Sunday afternoon I wanted ds to join dd and I for the Mine Ride, but he was at the other end of the park and didn't want to walk over for just one ride. If we been able to follow my plan, we would all have still been together when we got to the Mine Ride and then we would have gone on together to do a couple more rides before splitting up and then rejoining at strategic intervals. Not having a plan made it all a lot more inefficient and I just don't like that.
Admittedly, I'm nuts and lots of other people are way more comfortable going with the flow. I just find plans work much, much better for me and my family :)
