Opening Day 2004 =D
The excitement of another CP opening day has always made it very difficult to sleep the night before. This year would be no exception. If I got 4.5 hours sleep Friday night I would be amazed. My fiancé and I left early on a "hunt" for another Poi!nter, Jeff (UCISCHYUP) who was going to join us on our CP journey. Well, thanks to me getting all pissed cause we got lost in route, poor Jeff had to drive himself. The only good thing about that was having to stop at Hardees in Bucyrus to give him his season pass. So, of course, we had to eat breakfast there, I love Hardees! :)
Off to the Po!nt we went. Much to my delight that even to the unexpected getting lost, stopping in Bucyrus, we arrived JUST in time. Joe Cools were allowed in early, and off to Raptor we headed :)
We were at the park from O-C and thank goodness for No Doz for that long boring drive home!! :)
High Po!nts: It was finally OD! :) Despite 2 Florida trips, it was still a long and miserable winter! Raptor was running awesome (except for a few of those "odd" noises ;)) Ended up being on the 2nd train of the season and got in a total of 5 rides, 2 were at night.
Seeing some of my CP employee buds, and definitely my closer Po!nters was GREAT! Sure, we met during the off season, but it’s just not the same as hanging at the Po!nt with them. My fiancé and I were both in stitches many many times! All the rides were wanted to ride were running with the exception of WT, a couple times during the day it went down, but we did get a couple of rides later anyway, the last one being the ride RIGHT before it went down for good. Heard it’s woes were from an electrical surge earlier in the week which effected MFs lift hill lights too.
The most memorable rides were the Dodge Em cars, I had never did that before and it was a blast. The 2 Paddlewheel Excursion rides were fun as always! Mean Streak was actually tolerable and we ended up riding that 3x!
But the BEST ride had to be when Eric (my fiancé) and Dave (Dodgem Dave) talked me into going on the "Tilt a Whirl" and OMG they had it OUT for me! This thing was spinning so bad I thought I was going to hurl a couple of times. The sicker I felt, the more they made it spin. NEVER will I ride that thing again!!! :(
Donut Time is cool and they serve Starbucks. Wait’ll you see the donuts, muffins and cookies! This place is going to be a real winner!
The crowd all day was awesome, I far expected far more people and way longer wait times cause of it being a Saturday was was happily wrong. There is this Italian sausage, cheddarwurst stand across from MF that makes subs and OMG, Eric, Jeff and I got one and they were YUMMY!!! :) The guys looked into the new Game Time (is that the name?) of what used to be the Silver Dollar and they were really impressed. My fiancé talking about meeting the guys out there to watch sports in there. OK, YOU watch sports, I’ll be out HERE on Raptor ;)
The best part of the day for me was just walking around the park. To be with my friends, to see a bunch of my friends, see the sights, sounds and smell the smells was awesome. Eric and I had a blast and laughed several times on the way home! Can’t wait till our next trip!! This week???? :)
Low Po!nts: No Banshee for us! :( Mantis only had 1 train running all day which equated to way too long for that ride lines. Jeff and I actually started waiting towards nights end then decided to book off to WT and Raptor instead. Iron Dragon’s paint looks horrific! WTH were they thinking? Looks like Corkscrew got some fresh paint too, thank goodness they left it’s color ALONE!!! We opted for no TTD either, no patience to wait on it.
The weather although at times was tolerable, it was pretty much chilly all day. I had on 3 shirts and a jacket and I was cold all day. The only other low point is the 200.00+ I ended up spending on merchandise yet once more. I knew I should have left my credit card home! I wasn’t over impressed by any of their normal merchandise for this season but they did have some nice (non t) shirts that I can wear to work I did however show GREAT restraint in NOT buying the $249.00 doll in the window of Park Place. I collect dolls and the angel doll took my breath away! It doesn’t help when you have a fiancé saying "go ahead and get it honey" YIKES!!!
We’ll see if he stays THAT sweet once we get married!! ;)
All in all a WONDERFUL day and night at America’s Roller Coast. Raptor Jo has now had her CP withdrawal cured!! :) :) :)
Thanks to Jeff, Dave (and his friend Ana ;)), Matt, Flora, TIM and Tony for the great time and more great memories!! You guys all rock and I am so blessed to have you all as my friends!! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)
