one of the scariest rides?

after my friend rode wicked twister he said he couldnt decide if he liked mill force or wicked twister better for his #2 spot. its really a great ride, i think that going up the back spike the second time is one of the greatest moments for any ride.

Yea, WT is amazing. The Back is the most intense and the most amazing. Hanging face down looking down at the beach at 200ft. It doesnt compare to anything. I cant never get enough of this ride. Its probably one of the most intense as well, The G's especially in the back row are amazing.

How many of you think that Wicked Twister is better than Superman Ultimate Escape at SF WoA? I never rode Wicked Twister simply because I've ridden S:UE way too many times and I figured Wicked Twister wouldn't be much different experience.

They are both great rides, but I like WT better. It's faster, I enjoy the spiral going backwards in the last seat, and it offers better views, not only because of the extra height, but the beach and lake view are spectacular.

Go ahead and give WT a try, I would recommend the last seat for the best ride.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Is it really faster then S:UE? I know it is slightly taller than it, but I thought that they both travelled about 70mph.
well if it's taller, normally its faster as well.

I understand that, it's common sense that the taller the ride the faster it will most likely be. But since this isn't a traditional style rollercoaster, the height of WT has nothing to do with the speed of it. It could be built 300 feet tall and still be only as fast as S:UE (stupid idea heh) it deffinately wouldn't go all the way to the top of the spike. So i just wanted to know if both of these rides are launched at about the same speed. (obviously S:UE coming closer to the top of the spike than WT becasue of slight height difference).

Um, gravity is gravity. If something has a longer distance to fall, it's going to reach higher speeds. It also requires higher speed to send it that high. Gravity is the same just 80 miles down the road.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

Ok... Ummmmmmmm..... yeah, Wicked Twister is 215 feet tall right? The train really doesnt go all the way up any of the spikes... so yeah... they should state is as how high the train goes up, because on like Dragster or anyother coaster the train in on top of a track that is a set distance from the ground, so lets say for example on Dragster, you are obove a track 420 feet in the air. On Wicked twister you are like 7/8ths of the way up the spike, so how tall is that exactly?

it's reached the top before.

I'm talkin top, where those little bumpers are... thats 215 feet, and ive never seen a train touch em, let alone come within 10 feet of em

I've seen it almost touch the top a lot of times.

The best place to be this summer,Cedar Po!nt!

How does that happen then? Someone Accedentally turns the little speed dial up to 75 mph?

because im pretty sure wind doesnt really matter when the train is 9 feet off the ground, or it doesnt catch a sudden very low updraft... maybe the ride ops blow at it as it launches or something, because ive never seen it get close to the top, and there really isnt a logical explanation...

One of my friends told me that when she went the first year it opened that while she was on it that it reached the very top and actually hit the bumpers. She said it was like a little jerk and kind of scared her. I'm not sure if they closed it down for a while because of that or if anything happened. Just reporting the story I heard, could be true or false.
WT's trains are 1 car longer than S:UE i believe. That would mean that the back of the train (or front when going backwards) would be still in the process of being launched when the other parts of the train are already starting up the spike propelling it a little higher than S:UE (RCT any launched coaster -longer train goes higher). I know RCT isnt a very good example, but it still makes sense. On the other hand, you cant do that with a hydraulic coaster because once the cable has stopped, it dont matter where the back of the train is it isnt going any faster than it already is. I believe that's why they have shorter trains on hydraulic coasters and really long ones on impulses. Makes sense to me.

You know how dangerous it is for the train to hit the bumper? That means if the bumper wasnt there, the train would go off the track. VERY VERY UNSAFE. Those must me some very strong bumpers too, to do a little jerk would mean the train was still moving upwards, at a decent speed (to actually notice a collision) and thats a 6 ton (or however many tons the WT train is) Crashing into a rubber pad, still going atleast 5 mph. you do the math and figure out how much force is behind that train.

It's highly unlikey that a train collided with the bumpers... higly unlikely

its not unsafe because they have the bumpers. that's why it is there. i agree very very unsafe if a train was to go off the track. they know that because they have common sense.

If the train hit the bumpers that would mean that the speed of the train was able to go off the track, and thats unsafe, and even hitting the bumpers can cause injury.... I've never seen it even come within 15 feet or so from the top.
