On the news...

Ever hear of spontaneous human combustion? Seriously, some of us will need to have our fire extinguishers handy between now and tomorrow mid-day.

Seriously...could you imagine if the server crashed, or something. 90% of the people here would have an aneurysm...lol!

Methinks you doth protest too much.
i think its funny that a number of people were like "who cares about the announcemt, we already know the stats" well sure enough a huge buzz is going around for the anticipation of the announcement.
jeff why is there not gonna be a press conference
Who wants to go stand out in the cold on that peninsula tomorrow? Since it is not going to be operating, what can they see live that they can't see on tape?
Careful what you say, there may actually be some fanatics who, after surviving spontaneous combustion will actually be out there on the causeway....

Do you watch the normal news? Almost all reporters go out in the cold to film stories, they do it every day, there is another reason!
Cedar Point is very media-savvy.

Cedar Point understands that media types...
1) Are generally lazy
2) Appreciate those who appreciate them

Seriously...Cedar Point's media activities are specially designed to make it very easy to give the park good press. Unfortunately I don't have access to a TVRO so I won't be able to see what they put up tomorrow morning. But I am certain that there will be more than enough material there for any news organization to put a story together. Views of the site from every possible angle, interviews with important people, probably animation...and all wrapped up in a package that requires little or no effort to put on the air. Contrast that with a press conference where everybody is trying to see and hear, people are freezing, everybody is out in the middle of nowhere, deadlines make it hard to turn the tape around...it just isn't worth the effort for a mere new product announcement.

Making it dead easy to put a package on the air makes it more likely that stations will do just that!
