I know that you are not supposed to but does anyone have any picture that they have taken while on a rollercoaster at CP?

i have pics of riding mantis in the loop they arent really exciting..i just thought i would take them. to see what they looked like
I have a really good picture of MF's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hills taken from Mean Streak's lift. It was such an awseome shot, I couldn't resist it.

I also have one from MF's hill taken of MS. I had to take that fast and towards the base of the hill since it speeds up towards the top.

There is a site on the internet devoted to pictures of first drops.
Yeah, I just went over to coasterbuzz looking for the site. You beat me to it.

Hmmm...I wonder who donated the 1st MF picture and Steel Phantom photos. ;) *** This post was edited by CP_bound on 12/10/2000. ***
Hey Jo, in a previous thread you stated that you would never take pictures while riding MF, yet it tops your list? I know you posted it within the last month.?.

For the record I've experimented on Magnum. I brought the camera with me but I didn't push the shutter release button. (thats my Bill Clinton excuse and I'm sticking to it)

In all seriousness safety is no accident and I wouldn't want to get hit with a camera while riding Magnum or any other ride.

I do have a pic of me riding Magnum in the back seat that was taken by a rider in the front seat. ;)

Taking pictures on something like the Space Spiral is one thing, but I don't think any enthusiast should be violating park policy by taking photos on coasters. Whether you agree with it or not, those are the rules.

Has CP ever allowed on ride pics? Like during ERT?
Just curious....
What is the complete...COMPLETE park policy for on ride pictures being taken??? How come you can't actually take pictures on the ride?

Do you really Think Matt that CP would promote or even allow pics on the ride when your hands are supposed to be holding on to the bars and/or restraints. Thats the stand the park HAS to take in the publics eye and with their Insurance.

From the 2000 Park Guide:

"For safety reasons, taking pictures, videotaping and filming on rides are prohibited."

There may be a more complete policy, but that's the one printed in the park guide.

Why would they promote picture-taking when they don't even promote putting your hands in the air?
As far as ride photo's are concerned there is a huge safety policy with the park and also for insurance reasons. Think of it this way you are riding on Millennium Force in the front seat and are shooting the first drop when the camera strap breaks and the camera flies into the person sitting in back of you. Two problems: 1. Is that the person who got hit does'nt know what hit them. 2. The park has no idea what hit them

If the person files a complaint with management that a piece of the rollercoaster was the flying object Cedar Point would have a hard time proving that it was not there fault. This is why there are no loose articles allowed on the Force at all. (if you rode last year you know that) an object falling or launched at 93 mph can do quite some damage. I would never want to be hit and I don't think you would either. Do you remember getting hit in the face with the muffle heads?

Another thing that Parks have to look at is the marketing of photo's of the ride. If people were all allowed to shoot there own shots then the on-ride photo's would never sell. Also books, magazines, and videos of the ride would never sell. Amusement parks are there to amuse people but just remember that safety and profit are the two biggest things with money being the route of all evil.
Are pictures allowd to be taken on/from Space Spiral?
I have a picture of being on Iron Dragon in the knot. Nothing special but I like it.

Jeffrey Spartan, excuse me for being curious, I just wanted to know, sorry for asking. :(
Has anyone ever heard of anyone getting caught taking photos? What do they do? Take your camera? your film? Or toss you out of the park?

They slap your wrist and shake their finger at you and say no no!

Although they have the right to probably dismiss you from the park, I imagine all they would do is basically what I eluded to above. Just warn you not to do it again. I've never seen CP take a camera.
