On Ride Photo Section...

I did Top Gun at Canada's Wonderland in July. The whole on-ride video is one of those ideas that sounds great in theory but ends up not working out so well. It's just two minutes of looking at you bouncing around while the blurry track and background rush by behind you. I guess you could make faces at the camera the whole time, but I can't think of anybody childish and immature enough to try that. Wait... I forget where I speak. ;)

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

So looking at the videos of Maverick and the information on it, it seems to look like there is no on ride photo... Oh well, I STILL CAN'T WAIT TO RIDE IT!!

The on-ride photo is never in the POV animations.

I am fairly certain CP will have one on this ride, and I imagine it will either be in the tunnel during the launch, or through one of the "canyon turns" for a nice backdrop.

With the theming of this ride, I'd like to see CP put cowboys or something in the car with you, similar to how PKI used to (or still does) put Aliens in your On-Ride photo on FoF.

Under the "Fun Facts" on the stats page, it says "On-ride photo sales."

If you look at the FAQ on the Maverick site, it says that there will be on ride photo sales.

Edit: It's under stats, not FAQ. My bad.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

The best place for the on ride photo, in my opinion, would be in the heartline roll canyon. I think that would make for a good picture. Plus, it's in the finale of the ride.

They never had on ride phots when I was a kid. We actually took our own. I have a great shot from the front seat of the Beast looking down the first hill into the tunnel. And my dad took his hi-8 movie camera on the Mind Bender in Georgia on the day it opened (we were there totally by accident). They let us ride all day long in the front car (often times letting us cut in front of other guests) because they thought he was from the media.

I purchase the on ride pictures for my kids on the first ride for each coaster that has one. They get a kick out of it. Though when my son rode Millenium last year for the first time, the on ride photos were not available because we were the second train after a rain delay. Millenium was closed on this years only trip to date so he had not been able to ride it again. I think they will like having those pictures of their first rides on those coasters as they get older.

I agree with YD_11. The heartline roll would be a cool place for the camera. Similar to what Hydra does at Dorney. It takes your picture once while you're upside down in the jojo roll coming out of the station, and then once before the cobra roll. Both pictures are included in one purchase. I think thats a neat feature.
