On-ride Photo

A launch out a tunnel would be sweet no doubt
but we gotta remember the wonderful paint scheme
we dont wanna cover that up now do we?

They just as easily could have used a wireless camera feed for MF, or mounted on top of PT's cars to capture photos, but I don't see them using it. The system they have now works perfectly fine.

As for the glare from the sun? The cameras are angled down at the riders, so I don't foresee a problem.

I personally have issues with the current system for lack of quality. It's the digital age and they should start taking advantage of that. It's cheap and works a whole lot better. Maybe that is just my photo major talking though.

The video/pic of me will not be pretty. I dont know how to describe the look on my face because I would have to use scat slang to aptly make my point!

If it was on the top hat, or the drop, it would be far too long of a distance to string cabel back to the booth.

"Cabel" length has nothing to do with it. Putting it up there might not be practical from a maintenance standpoint, but there's no technological barrier.

Technology is such that it can easily capture the image at high speed. Given the brightness of strobes it can be a relatively short exposure as well. Remember that MF is pushing 50 at its photo with no problem.

DELETED!

I think the most practical place to put it is at the end of the Pull out before the brake run. Not on the launch so it doesnt interfere with the launch and maintenencing it. The End of the pull out looks like the best spot. That is where is is set on the Xcelerator i believe.

That's basicly what I meant, the cable would be too far from where the booth would be to be practical. I guess I didn't convey that meaning in my first post.

Cable is just wires. Length doesn't really matter with today's technology. Think of how much wire there is between your house and your cable company, telephone company, ISP, etc. They could put the cameras anywhere and get decent pictures. Personally, I like the thought of it at the tophat looking out over the lake with Maggie in the backgroud looking oh so small. That would be a great perspective.

I would definetly agree with you on that one!!!
Angle it down the tophat so it looks like the train is in mid air with all the little ants walkin around way down in the background! and of course little Maggie! I like how Power Tower is in the background of woodstock expresses on ride photo too!

I love the idea of the camera being located near the tophat. Can you imagine how awesome that would look at night, with the strobes flashing for every launch?
