Hey guys,
Just reserved my hotel through the opening day weekend. This is my first time staying on property, and we just got the hotel room, not the ticket package. Will I be able to buy tickets at the hotel that will get me into the park an hour early, or will they just be discounted but still have to enter with the general public? Someone told me that only the tickets you purchase as a package with the room when you book it gain you entry an hour early..if someone could clear this up for me it would be much appreciated..
Cheers,
Mike

Yes, you can get extra discounted tickets at the hotel's front desk, and yes, all resort guests are allowed in for Early Entry.

If they are doing things like they have in the past, you will receive your early entry passes when you check in at the hotel. How you get tickets is your choice.

I was working under the impression that it'd be easier & faster to get your discounted tickets at the hotel's desk. Can you even get the discounted tickets at the gate? If so, how do you establish that you get the lower rate?
Brandon
You buy your tickets at the hotel desk when you check in.
Make sure you hold on to your little resort i.d. card, they were checking for them the last two times I went, and I had never been checked for it all the years I went before.

In this respect, admissions and resorts are separated. The discount is only available at the resort desks.
Found this out the hard way when I had my sister just buy a ticket at the resort and then attempt to get that amount deducted when we got up front for her season pass. Had to go to 3 different places before someone finally gave her a refund, and that was after paying full price on the pass.

Thanks for the response guys,
So I can purchase tickets at the hotel desk for discount, and get early admission with our hotel ID?
Cheers,
Mike

You can purchase your tickets wherever you want (resort desk, ticket window, AAA, Meijer) and as long as you have your resort ID card you will get in early.

Cool, thanks for the help Jugga.

You can also just show your room key, we had other people in our room who wanted to go to a different entrance, they had the i.d. card, they said a room key is good also.

One last question, Is there any kind of transportation from the Breakers express hotel to the park? I know it looks farther than walking distance and wasn't sure if they were gonna make us drive and park or not.
Cheers,
Mike

No shuttle to the park from breakers express, you need to pay for parking everyday or get a package deal with your room that includes tickets and parking pass for your entire stay.

[url][url]Depending on what rides you want to go on at the beginning of the day, you might want to consider parking at the Soak City lot and using the entrance near Magnum. The Soak City lot can be accessed by driving around the left side of the peninsula (stay to the far left side as you approach the toll gates / main parking lot). The entrance is marked on the park map with a red arrow that says "Resort Entrance" in white letters.

Another thing to point out - there is no walking on the causeway. So this is what the walking route would look like.

Nothing like a nice, scenic 3-hour walk to a place where you'll spend the following 8+ hours walking. ;)
Brandon
Haha true DJ..
Jugga-in the map you linked, the point marked 'A', is that where the Breakers express is? My map shows otherwise..

No, it's certainly not there. Jugga had it right 5 posts back. You're not even on the right road - BE is located on the west side of the Causeway, northwest of Castaway Bay.
ADDED:
Google is not your friend here, since a search for "breakers express cedar point" does, in fact, point you to the 1201 address on the wrong side of the peninsula.
