Just happened to find this site through some google browsing. I was just recently interviewed for a position at cedar point (don't remember the exact title but I was interviewed in the corporate building) and from what I could tell I aced the interview. I'm sure this question has been asked before but how long does it take to be notified of the position being offered to you? How long should I wait to do a follow up call? Also, being somewhat older than most of the people I see in these forums (31) will I be considered 'too old' for most of the activities IF I do get hired in? I more than likely would be staying in the housing as it would be significantly easier than the 45 minute (without traffic) commute. Any information on these questions are appreciated. Also by chance are there any housing for married couples or perhaps discount rates on apartments in the area if any? Again thats assuming I get the position.
Congratulations on doing well in your interview! I guess you could consider me an old lifer, as I've been with Cedar Fair for 7 seasons. It wasn't too long after I was interviewed, that I was notified I had gotten the position. I can't give you an exact time frame, but it wasn't long. As for being too old for activities, no, you're not too old. I'm a little older than you, and there's people that work at CP that are in their 60's and 70's. I've worked with a lady that was in her 80's. I know there are apartments for married couples, because I know of one couple that worked at Hotel Breakers, and lived in CP housing. You may have request those apartments. I'm only 7 miles away from CP, so I've never had to live in housing. Good luck!

I had a roommate for a few hours that moved out to live with her husband. She was somewhere around 28 or 30. While people in their early 20s are more common, there are still a good number of people in their late 20s/early 30s

Thanks for the info! Still not sure if I got the job yet or not but on the cedar fair jobsite it says now a second manager (Vicki marks) is reviewing my 2nd job option. Does this mean the job I interviewed for is not offered to me? I have not heard back from that manager yet although the interview was only this past Monday. Also assuming I do get hired on, how hard is it to get rehired and/or find jobs during off season? Are there year round jobs I could perhaps transfer to after fulfilling the seasonal position? Last but not least is there any sort of site where I could find information on housing in particular for married couples? Thanks again for the info and I truly hope I get the job as it sounds like an excellent opportunity to both learn, have fun, and earn some cash!
There are year round postions at Castaway Bay. That's Cedar Point's indoor waterpark located near TGI Fridays on Cleveland Rd. I had a co worker that worked there after she finished her contract with CP. I'm sorry I don't know much about the dorms for married couples, but I do know they have them. You might contact the employee housing department for some information and availability.

Not sure if I am going to get a position now as three managers apparently have looked over my app. I did have an interview that I thought I did well on but now the position that is my 2nd choice is being displayed at the cedar fair jobs site, not my 1st choice. I'm assuming that means my 1st choice is no longer available? I've been in contact with the manager I interviewed with and have been informed that the job has NOT been filled yet and have also been asked when if I were hired I could start...is this perhaps a sign they DO want to hire me? Just wish I knew one way or another so I could decide to be excited or disappointed. Anyone out there have any insight perhaps?
