Hey all, I don't know if this is true, but I read on one of Danimation.com's forums that Cedar Point's official announcement will be July 10th? Is it true?

I'd think August, that's the norm. If it's a tremendously huge project -- something in the 300+ foot range -- yeah, it might be earlier because it will help quell rumours. And the Magic 8 Ball says... "Try Again"

Is it in August? I was there mid-July in 1999, and one of the employees at a Pepsi stand near Blue Streak told me and my friend about Millennium Force, when he overheard me telling my friend that Magnum isn't as bad as it looks. His exact first words were "You know, they're building a coaster for next year thats gonna blow Magnum out of the water..."

July 10th, my birthday. For my birthday I would like a TA2K and a CCI woodie. Okay, so that probably won't happen.
Just like an announcement probably won't happpen. I'm guessing late August if not early September before we hear anything. If they do ROCK ON!!

Personally I think it would be cool if they did the announcement during Millennium Mania! They could have everyone meet around the future site of whatever they are doing and hand out buttons, pins, shirts, and have copies press releases and press kits for everyone.

DargonZetaQuell, if you talked to the guy at the Pepsi Stand after July 22nd, then Millennium Force had already been announced.
I think it would be awesome if they announced it at MM like Dan said. I just hope they would pick one of the days that I will be there ;)

Yep it was after July 22nd, I went the day of my birthday actually, it was one of my best trips because I won the Guess Your Age Weight or Month of Birth, I chose month of birth and won by a landslide when the girl guessed December! I got this really nifty mug

I think CP would be wise to announce it early, and put up a sign, so people can get hyped about it and talk about it in the lines for half a summer, and plan their trips back next year!
oh, sort of like pki did with son of beast,even as far as to start building the parts people could see,only to not quite get it running till after all those people returned the following spring,lol
glad i waited till late oct to make a pki trip!
