Off season blues

Sadly, the off season is almost here and the coming weekend will be the final ride until april 2009. What will everybody do to help pass the time

until next season? I will be working my two jobs and there is a-lot of

movies i want to see.

:(

The fact that I am in grad school and too broke and busy to go to southern amusement parks is really the only way to pass this time. Convieniantly school will be slowing down right when the parks reopen :)

I'm going out to get some air.

After this weekend is over, and i finished crying- lol!!!!, i will start saving

money for next season. My one job provides me with a-lot of tips for

good service, which goes for the amusement park trips. People do

appreciate excellent newspaper delivery.

The park opens in April next year?

I have a platinum pass, so i always start the season with cedar point's

sister park-king's island. They open in april.

I will go to Kings Island to check out the new coaster but the only thing more disapointing than the hill that only goes up on Adventure Express are the line ups and lack of flats...

^Really? Im one of those people who loves the Beast, so that probably colors my opinion of the park but in my book the park has a solid collection of "good coasters" to back up the Beast in FoF, Firehawk, Flight Deck, Racer Backlot and yes even Adventure Express (one of the best mine rides out there.) Then for flats you have a Sally Dark ride, Disko Coaster, Giant Top Spin, Giant Frisbee, Huss Troika, and 3rd Generation Intamin Drop Tower. Sure some of those rides are at CP too, but that doesnt change the fact I love all those rides and consider them a "must ride" when I go to KI. Add one of the best raft rides out there, a decent flume, and a waterpark with a Tornado, Racing Mats, and the spiral speed slide when its warm out and you have a great collection. Diamondback is going to fufil the one thing missing from KI (a great coaster that everyone is going to consider great.)

Also, I must add, they do as good a job as CP in putting on a Halloween event. Its different then Halloweekends but as enjoyable and well done.

I have heard about the halloween event being great there. Some of the coasters were decent but I hated the lines. I found they used to have more flats and got rid of them without new ones. I don't know what a disco coaster is but their top spin was down.

^That would be Avatar, the other Nick U ride I must ride every time I'm there.

I've got some projects to work on here in the off season this year that'll keep me busy. If we get started with storm chasing season early in January and February again, I'll be busy before I know it! :)

Well, I've got college, college and more college.

I've got some projects to get done here as well, which includes setting up a JNOS Radio Station at the University.

Storm chasing will eventually come in to play. However I was offered a permanent job with MTU, so I may not be down in the area enough to go to Cedar Point in the summer. :( I guess we'll see what happens.

I am getting my life together in Alabama. After Christmas when I get back from visiting family in Michigan, I have to find a full time job. Work on getting a car, and moving into our house or apartment. Then from there I need to get in touch with the Birmingham Zoo, and start classes to become a docent. Not to mention I have a 2 year old running around. So I think I will have plenty to keep me busy during the off season. :)

As for keeping myself sane from withdrawls of CP, this website of course. It has always helped me through. And then I always go to CP's website and watch the POVs of all my favorite coasters.

I did the same thing. I love the the tilt a whirl. Now if we can only find something to do that will simulate dragster.

Terror Island Screamster 08', 09', 10', 11'

I just go sled riding when it snows and act like I'm on a bobsled coaster or go tobogganing in a chute and act like I'm on the bobsled while at the same time riding Gemini!

That's easy, get a leaf blower and about 3 feet of wire. Take the wire and cut it into pieces no longer than 1/4 inch. Dump all the wire into the leaf blower and then have your friend turn it on high while pointing it at your face.

Why do they call it common sense, when it's so infrequently used?
