We first headed to Magnum and enjoyed a nice one train wait. It was quite breezy so it was an extremely rough ride and slower than normal even with the trims off. This was my first night ride on Magnum. After that opening ride for the weekend we passed the giant yellow lawn ornament. It's a lot larger than pictures justify it as. We then went to Millennium which only had about a 25 minute wait. It's such a monster at night although because of the steady wind it was slow too. When off of it, we decided to end the night there, so we rode it two more times only waiting 20 minutes and then 15 the third time. We were the last train of the night. It was a nice Friday night and it had a very light crowd while we were there.
The next morning we got up and heading into the gates early. We quickly walked to Millennium where we got to be on the first train out. It was a nice slower ride again, but it still kicked. We rode it a second time with about a 10 minute wait. After the second time it was up to about a 45 minute wait so we headed over to get a ride on Mantis since the lines were short. Waited about 20 minutes for front car. It was my best ride on Mantis. I've always enjoyed it, but now I don't seem to have any problems with it. Front car was smooth and not jerky at all. It was a great fast run. By then the line for Millennium's fast pass was starting to accumulate so we hopped in that line. We waited 25 minutes due to the fact that the guy was late to begin with, but forgot the stamps. By that time the long was so long I'm sure the people in the rear ended the stamps for the day. Stamped, we walked back to the back where Mean Streak was down and Gemini was receiving a line. We waited 10 minutes for Gemini. (While walking back and around this area, Dragster's tower is already standing out and is the center feature in many places now. There are going to be a lot of great places to watch this monster.) By the time we were off Gemini it wasn't very late but Magnum's queue was almost full, so we just walked on by it.
After the long, crowded walk around the back and to the front, we decided to take a break from standing and grabbed something to eat and drink. But when we had our stomachs full, we went to Wicked where the lines were out of the queue, so we passed it. Then we put our fast passes to use and had an excellent ride on Millennium. We walked back around to hit Gemini again when it had almost about a 45 minute wait and Magnum where the queue was full, so we walked on by them and went back to the front where by then Wicked's line was down to about 45 minutes. We decided to hop in since it was down from what it had been. This was my first time riding at full speed. We were in the very back seat and it was great. Definately a good ride for Cedar Point. It gives you a nice variation of coasters. With Raptor's queue practically full we walked past it, but met up with some people and waited with them for Millennium for about an hour and 45 minutes. I had never waited that long, but one was a first time rider, so we had to ride it. That line rocks. You never stop walking. It was a great ride.
Then the sun was going down, so it was getting chilly. We went back to the hotel and got jackets. After re-entering, we grabbed some food for supper and sat and ate as the park began to light up. To get a good view, we waited about 30 minutes for the green side of Power Tower and had an awesome ride on it before we went back to the front and got our only ride on Raptor. We waited about an hour and 15 minutes for it, but it was well worth it. Soon after, we headed over for a half hour wait on Wicked for another great ride. With about 35 minutes until closing we went to end the stay with a ride on Millennium where the line was about to flow onto the midway. We decided not to wait and went back to the hotel for a good night of sleep.
It was a great weekend. It was crowed but we still enjoyed it. Can't wait to return in May and ride Dragster! It's looking good already. Even the GP is trying to figuire out what it's going to do. Some of their theories are quite hysterical.
