October 10th! Boeckling Banquet & Fun

The ride to the park was pretty good , with not a lot of traffic on the roads. We arrived at the park around 11:10 and parked in the 4 row from the front. We then headed to guest services to pick up our tickets to the Boeckling Banquet; when we went inside we asked the employee and she told me to see the lady in the back part of the office. That lady then asked me for my name and I.D. She said that there was no tickets here and she had to call the office. It turned out she thought we were there for Comp. Tickets, so after I repeated that we were here for the banquet tickets, we were done and out within 5 minutes.

We got through the gate around 11:25 and headed to Raptor. We waited about 15 minutes for it and had a great ride near the back, but my feet were freezing because I took off my shoes. After a quick pit stop at the restrooms we headed to Dragster. The line was already near Power Tower and this was before the public came in. We waited in line for about 45 minutes. The first train of the day only had three rows filled and was way over-launched and flew over the top-hat. After getting off Dragster we had to rush over to the Banquet. We made it with a minute to spare.

The house looked great and was very cool. The actors/servers were all very fun. The food was very good and it was really fun to have dinner in a haunted house. Harriett Spleen "the cook"was really cool. She asked us what our favorite character was at CP and when someone said Snoopy, she replied that she should be favorite because she is the one with the knife in her hand and that Snoopy is a stinky dog with fleas. I had a great laugh. The skull dessert was cool and the raspberries were delicious.

After the banquet we headed out and got a locker for are gifts. Since we were all stuffed we decided to look around in the stores. We seen that the Snoopy Boutique had 50% off and took a look at the sale merchandise. It was mostly little note pads and key chains. We also noticed that a lot of the stuff said Knott’s and Geauga Lake on it. We then headed over to the Cadillac Cars, which is this years tradition. The tradition is every year we pick a not so popular ride to ride every trip and this year it was the Cadillac/Antique Cars. We then headed over to Millennium Force which had a 1hr 45min line. We got to the station and next to get on, when the train didn’t park right in the station messing up all the blocks. When the Anti-Rollbacks kicked on when the train stopped on the lift everyone went crazy in the station and were saying that train derailed and stuff. It was kind of funny. We waited about another 20 minutes, while maintenance went up and down in the cart and parked the train in manual (which goes a lot faster then Dragster in manual mode).

After Millennium we went to get in line for Toy Factory. Since we got in line about 10 minutes before opening we got in within 30min. The house is just crazy with the mirrors and the Barbies. We got scared so bad by the crazy bunny thing in the stuffed animals. And the end is just “WOW” wasn’t expecting that. After that we headed over to Estate. We waited about an hour, but the line moved so slow it felt like 5. The house is very well done, but the some of the ghosts weren’t very good except Harriett who let us escape with our lives because she liked us. But in the end the house was very cool. We then headed towards the back to get some fries and get in line for CornStalkers. The line took about 45 minutes. It was about the same as last year, and I still got scared by the horn, just like last year. Upon exiting we walk through the Fright Zone which was really packed. We walk over to Terror Island, which has a better line setup that goes through the boat house instead of the free when I went last year. The island was good and is probably my favorite walk through and the guy on the bungee scared the crap out of our group when he sling-shot out in front of us. Carnevil was about the same as last year. We began heading towards the front exit, but first we made a detour to ride Witch’s Wheel which was a walk-on. We got are things from our locker and checked out a few shops and I bought a Halloweekends blanket at the Plaza gift shop. We left around 11.

I think this years Halloweekends is the best year so far. The park looks very good and the decorations are always getting better. I liked the dug up STR grave and the Corprate skelletons are always cool. :-) Everyone in our group enjoyed the day and didn’t mind the crowds. This was my friends first halloweekends/first haunted house and they loved it. Thanks for reading...

Cedar Point dropped the ball on Saturday with the Early Entry for resorts and platinum pass holders. We were walking in from the beach entrance to Raptor at 11 when the park opened, they had the barracades up to keep the GP out until 12 but nobody was there to prevent them from coming in. They eventually had people in place, but not after a huge sum of people already went into the park. From the time it took us to walk from the beach entrance to Raptor, we already had to wait 15 minutes, where it usually is a walk on to any seat you want except the front row.

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

Do they still have the demon by the main gate that hangs over the ticket booths? I love him, he's my favorite decoration.......we can't go this year cuz we're buying a house. I usually would get a photo of him above me when we'd visit. :(

And how many people were at the banquet? Were you at a table with others or did you have a table just for your own group?

I didn't see the demon guy but I really wasn't looking for him. We were having to much fun with the mosters especially the headless guy.

For the banquet there was a large table that had about 8 or 10 seats, and about 5 tables of two around it. Our group got split up because an uneven amount of people and since we were cutting it close on time we were the last people in. So I sat by myself at a small table while the the other two in my group went to the big table. It was a lot of fun because I talked to the monsters and Harriett Spleen joined me. :-)

We were in Famous Dave's when we saw a train stopped on lift for long time. I agree about the guy on the bungee. That was so cool! From a distance, I thought I saw something as people screamed then nothing was there. Very creative!

JW - I think what happened Sat morning is they were still filming at Maxair right before the park opened. So, some people from the shoot were already heading to rides before the barricades were moved. We were headed to Dave's and waved at the crowd still waiting! :)

He is still there! That is one of my favorite things to see each year too.

The dinner sounds like it was a lot of fun, and delicious too! Glad you had a lot of fun pointperson!
