Just finally catching up with things online and read trip reports. I normally never post any, but thought since we had great time, I would.

We got to Sandusky around 6pm and decided to check in hotel so we wouldn't have to mess with it after midnight. We had reservations at Rodeway Inn on Milan right off Perkins Ave. Checked into room and heater wasn't on so suggested to wife to turn it on since it would be pretty cold by midnight. As soon as it was turned on, the smoke detector went off and you could smell it burning! Finally got it off and went to front desk and they apologized and switched us into another room. When it comes to cheap stays, I don't get too picky. For less than $50/night, I can't complain about our stay.

Once we left hotel, we were both hungry and hit up FD's before going into park. What a way to start the weekend! Can't get enough of that place! We got into park and hit Magnum first (missed my baby!). Then decide to head over to Maverick. It was almost 8pm and CarnEvil was just starting. So we walked thru it. Wasn't as fun with no crowd. Got to Maverick and waited almost an hour. Then headed up through Fright Zone and toward front of park. Rode Raptor a couple of times.

We did a lot of walking around looking at decor and then went back to Magnum and closed out night there.

Saturday, we did early-entry and rode Maverick. As stated in another post, some of the trains are getting really bad with the vibrations! Back right on Sam was the worst!!! I couldn't think straight after getting off! I would have rather ridden Mean Streak! Maintenance seriously needs to learn how to take care of those trains.

We then went back to Magnum to get first ride there, as usual. :) Did only a couple of laps and headed to front to get in DT before it got crowded. The park got busy pretty quick as I anticipated. We got hungry and headed to FD's for lunch. Got back in park and decided to take in shows remainder of day.

No one posted this yet, but the show's are Freakin' AWESOME this year!! We first did the Graveyard Shift and was impressed with it. Nice to see the theater seeing some action during HalloWeekends! We then saw the Chris Linn show. Loved it! I remember seeing him at Palace Theater last yr. He is such a good performer. Wish the show was longer though. We caught the Witches of Witch Hollow and thought it was cute show for the kids. We loved the Rocky impersonations!! We then made it back to Red Garter Saloon for the Nights of Darkness. WOW!! This is easily the best show I have seen in years!! The show show is filled with so much energy, it is easy for the crowd to get into. For those of you who have not seen it, make the time and DON'T MISS IT!!

We saw the parade and still think it is nice to see at an amusement park. Enjoy them giving the kids a chance to be in it.

As it got near 8pm, we headed over to Terror Island. As we waited in line for it to open, the ghouls were interacting with guests. I love to see that! We got behind a family with a couple of kids. We had a blast watching them getting scared and chased around on the island! Great job CP with the addition of Terror Island! We then did CarnEvil again. Much better with a crowd! Was about 9pm and we decided to leave since we had to be up early next day.

Sunday started out with Maverick again. But, this time got 2 laps in before line started filling up. Then hit Magnum for opening. Did a few laps there before venturing off. We actually hit MF once since line was only partway down ramp. Got seat 9-1 on yellow train. Was happy to have no problem getting belt fastened by myself. Same usual boring ride for us. We do want to ride it at night with all the fog going.

Did lunch again at FD's. Hit show at RGS again. Got table close to front and really enjoyed the show better. Rode Corkscrew and then headed toward front and saw parade again. This time we saw something that made it even better. Those get-around chairs they use for the pumpkins in parade are always fun to watch going in circles. But this time one broke! It was so funny!! They couldn't get it working again and parade was stopped. They had to drag it off to the side and had Maintenance come work on it. We chatted with friends for while then headed up to Toft's to have some ice cream. I'm a plain ol' vanilla kinda guy. My wife had some Pumkin Pie ice cream and liked it. She made me try some. YUCK!

Hit up Magnum couple more times around 6pm and decided not to stay til close. We had great weekend and was really tired! It was great being at the park again and running into soem of the CP regulars I haven't seen for awhile! It was easy to spot me since I had bright orange hair!! :)

I'm sure I'll see you closing weekend then! I won't be able to make it before then due to company outings and other plans

I agree with your thoughts of the shows, especially Nights of Darkness. Everyone really gets into it, the performers, the band, the crowd. I saw it six times this past weekend and during "Don't Stop Believin'," a lot of people were singing along.
