Well, I wouldn't call 1 incident a "catstrophic history".
But I guess I can see where CPs management would take 1 incident to color all the installations in a negative light.

Wow, I've never seen this much over-thinking and speculation.
As for Chaos, I have it on good authority that the ride's maintenance cost per rider is way too high. I'm surprised it's still there. Yes, it has run "fine" since the Michigan's Adventure accident, but I suspect the routine to prevent a repeat of that is what has driven up the cost of running it. Those things have an industry-wide reputation of being crap.

Well, they could get more riders through it if they didn't have to release each car individually.
And that's not the first time I've heard it called a maintenance hog. Which kinda sucks because it is a fun ride.
