Word on the street is that the ride will hang out for one more year, and it will live on the former site of Demon Drop.

^ should have expected that. I actually have my pc pulling pics with webcammagic. when its down ill post the video on youtube or something.
edit: Well i guess the rick roll in the post above me was deleted.
Expect what?
Did I post something that offended somebody?
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Just one year. It seems like a lot of work and expense for one year even though it's not a huge job. I guess they feel it's worth it. If its true about the one year.
I do not see where they said it would only be for one year.

Very interesting. Well IF they are planning anything for the spot, I wonder if they plan on moving/getting rid of it by 2012. Or maybe this was there plan all along?

This was not the plan all along. I suspect that it'll hang around as long as it financially makes sense, and there are no buyers.

So WHERE in the world are they going to put the station for that 500 ft inverted looping woodie? On top of Ocean Motion? ;)
Very happy to see that they decided to hang on to the ride. My brothers, as well as many of my friends, are big fans of the ride. I would have hated to see it go, just because its a CP classic.
Being in the front, will allow all the younger kids to see it, and want to ride it.
Adults probably avoided it where it was hiding.
GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.
Definitely doesn't seem like a 'welcoming' ride for sure. Guess it makes sense to keep it if they can't sell it. Wonder what it'd be worth scrapped? ha
Well I'm happy to see it staying, and since it will be more noticable I'll probably ride it more. Well I guess we will finally have a tie in with the food stand across the way. So I guess we will have a random loosely pirate "themed" main gate.
Cedar Fair a company of mystery ;)

Brilliant planning! Eat at the place across the midway, go to OM, lose what you just ate, and repeat. I see $$ in this move.
I'm pretty sure that Ocean Motion will be here to stay for a while, considering that it has left the auction site ITAL.

Yeah Ocean Motion is no longer listed for sale, and now that we can confirm that it has not been bought by another park I have a feeling it will be in that spot for a little while. This does beg me to ask, "What in the world just happened!?" though.
So Demon Drop left last season and was shipped to Dorney after being on the market for I don't know how many years. Alot of us (myself included) assumed that the reason for the move now as opposed to any other time was because the space was going to be used by the 2011 attraction.
We then found out that Ocean Motion was up for sale and due to the large amount of flags in the area guessed that the "Starflyer" was going into that area.
Windseeker (which had it's own confusion surrounding it) was then announced and confirmed that it was going to take up the area occupied by Ocean Motion. At this point in time the general consensus was that the former Demon Drop area was to be used for a possible attraction in 2012.
Then at the end of the season, Ocean Motion is no longer listed as up for sale, and (I ) firmly believed that it had been bought. A few days later it is confirmed that the ride will be taking the former Demon Drop area.
If the plan all along was to move Ocean Motion to Demon Drop's old spot then why place it up for sale? Something tells me that one of two things happened here. Option one, the land was cleared to accept Ocean Motion from the very beginning and the placement of Ocean Motion up for sale was not expected to get any buyers. Option two, the land was cleared just to get Demon Drop out of there, and upon not being able to sell Ocean Motion on short notice they decided to keep the ride and place it in Demon Drops spot.
I think option one seems like the most plausible, but it still doesn't make all that much sense.
Man this entire 2011 attraction has been one very interesting rollercoaster ride. :P I hope we are pulling into the station soon, because this is just weird.
R.I.P. Mr. Scott
That might fit pretty good in the front of the park. It would have been nice if there was a spot right by Hurricane Hannah's, but I am very happy to see it stay.
If you kept thinking that anything to do with Demon Drop had anything to do with future attractions at Cedar Point, I think that's imaginative, but not realistic. It was all about money. Demon Drop was a cheap "new" ride for Dorney (and could have been at Knott's if it wasn't so dissed by the press), as a last resort because they couldn't sell it. There wasn't anything more complex about it than that.
