From looking at the animation, there are more than one train running at the same time. After I read the FAQ's, I didn't see anything about this. is this going to be like MF and TTD? or will there actually be more than one train on the track at any given time? What do you guys think?
I love Monkeys! I love Monkeys!
I don't know about lots, but there will be more than one. Judging by the animation, one should be coming down the hill just as one exits the launch. this seems to time them right with a bit of "dueling" as they race back through.
I'm curious as to what the other 4 trains will be doing while 2 are out there. (I'm assuming 1 loading, 1 unloading, leaving us with 2 unaccounted for.)

I was thinking that this may be a deal like TTD where not all trains are running at once. Still I don't know why they would have 2 extra trains.
Thrills Around the Corner!
I'm guessing there is a "pre-lift" area at the base of the hill. Similar to what TTD has. It looks like there is enough space to hold two trains there. That way the "duelling" nature of the ride can be timed precisely with the ride control system.
It looks like there's a potential holding block between the station and the lift hill that could be used to hold one of the "extra" trains.

I'm glad you started a thread on this because I was wondering the same thing about the trains. Even though they have 6 trains, that doesn't mean that all will be in operation, right? Like they'll have 4 trains on the main track and 2 on the transfer track?

Tim - that could explain why the lift seems so fast in the animation.
PUE had his listing in another thread as to how he thought it would operate. I thought he was off, but thinking about it now, I think he may be pretty close.

With the longer circuit, I'm guessing it will be more efficient to run all six, unlike TTD that only runs five. They would only keep trains on the transfer track if they don't need the capacity. That's true of any park - except Six Flags.
From what I have heard, halltd is correct. All 6 trains will be used, and staging blocks will be used to synchronize the "dueling" feature of the ride.
That just seems to be the most logical answer.

^^ - Or if the ride is modified so as to hurt capacity and cause trains to become unnecessary.
^ - You're using logic to explain the park that put seat-belts on a 29 year old ride that hadn't needed them at any time before.

The FAQ sheet says it will provide 1200 rides per hour and each train will seat 12 people. If I've done my math right, that means they will have to launch 100 trains per hour or one every 36 seconds. The FAQ also says the ride is 2mins 30 seconds long. I think thismeans that there has to be 4 trains on the track at all times - but that seems like a lot. Does someone see a flaw in my logic?
If you look at the end of the ride, it's pretty long at the end to suggest that they may need the room for the trains at once....maybe.
The end of Maverick reminds me of the Millennium Force though.

I'm under the impression that it has one load/unload station, so rolling a train out to a pre-lift area would certainly speed up the process. Not like that train could really be used for anything else at the time..
I wonder how long theyll take loading and checking trains in order to keep up with the system.

I could be wrong, but OTSR should help the load/unload.

I was wondering if there is a problem and trains need to stack where are all 6 trains gonna stop. I count one in the station, one in the holding brakes, one in the ready brakes, one on the drive wheels before the launch and one on the drive wheels before the lift. That's 5 trains, where is the 6th one or are they only gonna run 5 on this too. I've been trying to figure out the blocking of this ride since it was announced.

I wonder what the procedure is for a power failure, which (I would assume) might cause a rollback from the lift hill. I'm sure they've thought of this, of course, but I imagine there would have to be some sort of friction brakes in place to prevent a collision, if indeed there will be another train waiting in the "pre-lift" area.
I don't see all six trains running on this ride. In order to run six a train would have to be in a holding block outside of the station. If that's how they're going to do it, it seems as though the train enter the launch tunnel will stop due if there's a hold up in the station. Five would make more sense. Train 1 in load, train 2 in staging area, train 3 on first part of course, train 4 on second part of course, train 5 in unload. While there's room for a sixth train, it would be very similar to TTD's reasoning "Capacity is better with less trains".
After all, Intamin did a great job getting TTD's blocking system to work; why would Maverick be any different? ;)
