From what I hear they're packing the WT station now too.... I hate it when they do that!
They have never packed in the station for WT. I've been three days in a row this year and its been the same all three days. only enough in to fill up the train, and a few extra for the first and the last car.
Problem with TTD is that most Der da Der's dont know which direction to go. the Que line splits to go to the right and the left, and once most people get to the point where there is no divider (actuall station) they go in the oppsite direction that there susposed to, or they get confused witht the regular line and the that is for the front seat thats against both back walls. I was there two weeks ago and we waited for 20 minutes to get into the loading station for this exact reason. once I moved people out of the way, me and the five other people in my party went to the second and third and fourth row and were on the ride with in a matter of minutes.

and if I get something wrong, we just ask if anyone wants to get in front of us.
Yesterday at Valleyfair I actually had a couple of girls ask if they could cut in front of me so they could ride with their friends. Apparently the line jumping rules aren't explained very well there.
In fact, I had to stop a kid in line for Steel Venom who was just going to walk past me. I said he wasn't cutting in front of me and his response was that he wasn't cutting. Of course, he had cut in front of all the people behind me too. I was just amazed by it. He didn't get past though.

Goodbye MrScott
John
Yesterday in Dragter's station there was one kid who was attempting to cut in front of many people waiting for the front row. Many spoke up though so he didn't get past. With the station being so crowded, as it was yesterday, it is easy for some people to fly under the radar and cut into whatever line they choose. Its pretty unfortunate.
Thrills Around the Corner!
I think I've already mentioned this in my TR from last month, but its topically relevant here.
While in line for TTD, there was no one regulating the station, and it was a packed, disorganized mess. So, as I reached the turnstiles, I stopped and waited a few cycles for the station to clear out a bit. Originally, I had intended on waiting until it was mostly cleared (ie until the first occurrence of an empty queue), but the inevitable and persistent whining of people in line behind us made me abort my plan earlier than I had intended. Its amazing how dumb people can be. For some reason, these people were under the impression that it actually mattered when we entered the station, as if waiting for it to empty would have made their wait any longer.
Next time, I'll be more bold and explain the situation to any naysayers.
Brandon
I too have experienced a bad case of line jumping. When I went on Memorial Day, this girl came into the line and was giving the excuse that she went to the bathroom and that her friends were saving her spot. The weird part was that her friends were all the way up at the ramp right before the station!! And the line was backed up to the second queue from the ramp!!! I mean how stupid can you be to say you went to the bathroom for that long!!!?? What a load of BS!!!
I was furious (as were others). Unfortunately not one person said anything. I was going to say something but by the time I was able to get in talking distance of an op, she had already gotten off.

Yeah, Valleyfair is my homepark and you'll see a lot of line jumpers because none of the employees do anything about it. Don't get any ideas now anyone ;)
But yes, when I was at CP this past Monday the TTD station was so packed, people were trying to get into the front row in 2 different directions. That was quite lame.

I tried this approach once, but the idiots from the back train entered the platform for the front train. I was forced to move onto the platform almost immediately and to squeeze myself into a line.
Ohhh, ohhhh, heres a line jumping story that im sure most will get a kick out of:
It was 2003, first year of Dragster, and I was in line with my mom. The thing of course was breaking down constantly that season and I knew that as well as anyone else. My mom and I were the very next people in line, ready to board. At this moment someone in line right behind us asked if they could cut to ride with their friends. Before I had even really realised what happened my mom being stupid like she is let them cut. Everyone could see I had a very disturbed look on my face, and I just said it had better not break down. The people who cut said something about they would buy us drinks if it broke down. I dont really even need to say what happened immediatley after their train pulled out of the station. Anyways, I guess the story had a happy ending because the breakdown was only 30 mins and I eventually got my first dragster ride in, but you can imagine the thoughts going through my head during that breakdown. I never saw those people again, and I never got my drink.

I was On TTD on Saturday @ 11:30. Good news! number one, the ride didnt mysteriously break down 30 min to close to thin the line out. and they were only letting a limited amount of people enter the line. It would have been even beter, but the train that I was on, my seat was broken, so they were only loading every other train. Other than that it was cool.

Yes, it's seems to have gotten better since the park opened.

Isnt it just great that it's working well now?

they need to do three things on dragster:
1. put a permenant divide in the two sides of the station, instead of some trash cans. people always end up drifting to the other side, or moving the trash cans to cut the first row line of the other side.
2. extend the front row line, it always goes past the que anyways, and it might lessen confusion
3. tell people where to go unless they say 1st row, but if the first row is full, they should be assigned. but there should be less let-down people for that if they do extend the que.
oh, and if you want to wait for a shorter amount of time, and get farther up seats, you can usually push through the people, and get to the 2nd and 3rd rows, as people usually just go into the line right by the entrance to the station (5, 6, 4), or the first row.
All of that can be summarized with one simple solution: Make the station organized!!!
-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut
As Adam said, hiring one extra person (maybe 2 if you want one for each side) would solve all of these problems. I don't understand why they won't do it.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
The one person that they sometimes have at the station enterance is enough. A simple
I want you to start letting _____ of people in the station every _____minutes.
is all it takes. Or even, like you said Vince, one for front train and one for back train.
It sure would be a bit more involving than just sitting in a chair with the height stick staring into space. It would at least keep you busy.
And somethimes I feel that many people (GP) get the feeling that they need to get into the station and on the ride before it breaks down. Obviously most dont know that's its running just fine.
-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut
They should do that on all rides. The staions on TTD and WT were way to over crowded when I went. If all the rides were like MF station it wouldnt seem so crazy in the station.
