There ARE brakes in the a portion of the brake run. But they are only in the part of the brake run where the brakes are not fixed to the track.

If they're not fixed to the track, it's not possible to stop. The brakes are the same as on WT, retractable magnets on the track, "fins" on the trains.

Matt, some of the brakes fins are fixed to the track as seen here or here or here. Now these, brake like the launch trake brakes, are retractable as seen here. The magnets are on the bottom of the train.

ok, it seems there is some confusion here....

the brake run portion of the track consists of a long stretch of fixed brake fins.... and at the END of the brake run, there are retractable brake fins WITH kicker wheels to move the train from the brake run to the block sections and the turnaround

they have been doing tests with the kicker wheels ... and a VERY SLOW test with the hydraulic launch cable

Remember what Monty said:

"Testing will include a partial pull-through, and sending a train with a clearance template attached."

So i'm guessing that when we see a train with that clearance template on it, then we can say that testing has begun. Or at least full circut testing.
