I just applied to work at Cedar Point for the summer. I am not your average type of person to apply. Your average employee is just out of high school or still in college. I am 45 years old, just lost my family to divorce, lost my job and about to lose my house to foreclosure. I am having a hard time finding work in my same field in Michigan. I am hoping by the end of summer, mabe the job market may improve. Does anyone have any opinion of someone my age working at Cedar Point?

No, JobNet isn't working correctly. Plus, your application is good through the whole 2008 season.
It's working alright for the most part now, it seems.
In response to the original post, give it about a week, and if you still don't hear anything, contact the division or department to which you applied.

Thats how my application went, and I've been there for 5 seasons. Once the Jobnet is blank, that means it's with the department you applied for, and you should soon have an answer. This is a new system, and it takes time for it to update your status. Good Luck!

I worked in admissions from 2001-03. Worked mostly at Resort Gate as a host and an ATL. Worked a few times at Marina and Beach when they were shorthanded.
I have been working at Mt. Rushmore in S.Dakota since 2006. I love the housing and the paycheck is a bit better.

Cedar Point has people of all ages working there. I'm the TL of Snoopy Boutique, and there's an older gentleman working with me. I find it kind of strange telling someone quite a bit older than me what to do, but a lot of the TL's and supervisors are younger than some of their crew members. You should apply, you'll get a chance to get quite a few hours, and a bonus at the end of your contract. It's fun too!

I know that feeling. I was the oldest person in my location all summer and it did feel a little weird at times. The boat load of minors did not help at all. And I really hated if a minor was left in charge.

Working at The Point was fun in 2000 to 2003 and in 05 it was and I know that they employ all ages in rides I worked with a Couple of different people.... I worked with Dennis in 2000 at Antique Cars and then with his wife Debbie in 05 some.... I think that it's great to see people young and old working togethor. As far as Jobnet it's a growing pain and hopefully CP will get the bugs worked out of it I would contact the Human Resources line and they will be able to help you out..... What are you going to CP to work as.
