No more employee parking

So I couldnt hope but notice that new for 2012, CP is now offering "premium parking" at the spiral lot for guests who want to pay an additional parking fee. For us, returners, I must assume that that means there is no more employee parking? I wonder if its going to be a shuttle system where we park off point, Im not sure how I feel about it.

You probably shouldn't worry. I'm guessing they'll fence off or otherwise separate the public parking to the right of the entrance plaza to create the premium zone. It may be that employees may someday have to park off the peninsula and get bused in. But I doubt it'll be this year--or any time soon.

Yeah the employee parking is really too far from the gate to make it a good premium parking. We really only had the first 4 or 5 rows to park in. Though as long as it wasn't busy they didn't mind how far back we parked.

So we can still park our cars on property THIS Season?

So what if you can't? You have to be a high level manager or executive to be allowed to park on property at the park I work at. Even Managers and Directors have to be bussed in. With the new guy, I could totally see him making it that way for seasonal employees, especially since he came from the company I work for :)

I do not see that making any sense. The employee parking is actually further from the main gate. The employee parking is there because that is where the employee security gate sits. The only way I see this happening is if they remove the employee security gate at space spiral and somehow rearrange the main entrance to allow acces from that front side of the parking lot, instead of having to walk down and back around. It only makes sense in that location if they rearrange the main entrance to face towards the water.

It might suck for some employees, though Im sure some depts will have an exception ;)

Yeah I saw that presentation hildebrant said it was located at spiral lot. I'm guessing that employee parking is gonna be moved to the south basin lot. That lot is empty on pretty much everyday besides when we have a parking ban. It's a hike but better then waiting for the bus.

Your company is also a bit more knowledgeable about transportation that CP is. :)

Very true. I have never had to wait for a bus, there is always one waiting for me.
