No longer # 1?

I have been to both CP and SFMM. I like them both, for different reasons.

SFMM has some nice topography (hills to some of you) with some great vistas. They have great rides.

Cedar Point has nice surroundings. Who doesn't like water? The views from MF and Maggie are incredible and you can't find anything else like it. I like the history you experience at Cedar Point and the true resort-feel that I have only found similarly at WDW.

Why must it always be a vs. issue?

There was one thing that happened on my last trip a few days ago that emphasized how much CP cares about it's guests. My friend and I were eating some fries at the Round Up, and a lady that worked there just came up and started talking to us. She wasn't a sweep or anything like that, the actual purpose of her job was to walk around and talk to people making sure they were enjoying their day. She talked to us for about 5 minutes, then moved on to the next table and began talking to the family that was sitting there. My friend hadn't been to CP in 5 years, and he was amazed at how classy it was that they had people walking around to just talk to you.

I think that would be a cool job to have.

It's things like that which make amusement parks so great, and that's something that i've always loved at my many trips to Disney World. Really great customer service is something that adds a whole new degree of fun to an amusment park, but sadly many parks overlook that fact. Customer service, atmosphere, and rides are what dictate how good a park is to me.

Can't wait to be at the Point!

I get to go to Cedar Point one day a year when I come up to visit friends during the summer. This year I came on july 22, or two Tuesday's ago. Does anyone know why TTD didn't run that day? Dispite my slight disappointment to that, (I had been looking forward to riding that since I found out it was being built) I had an awesome time at cedar point that day. I can't believe how nice all of the employees are and how quick a lot of the lines went through, especially Magnum and Raptor. Does anyone know why a lot of the larger roller coasters had smaller lines than Gemini, disaster transport, and coasters like that? Also, does Cedar Point still have live DJ's or just songs that they play off of a tape or soemthing? I didn't notice any DJ's, but last year I saw them. Just wondering and thanks. Cedar Point is and always will be the best, and it's amazing how where I live, the majority of the people have never heard of it...
You guys can sit here all you want and say don't be negative etc... but the fact of the matter is, there ARE people that were very upset with Cedar Point in that line. I thought there was going to be a riot or something, they brought police into the line before they began telling people individually to please exit because the ride was down for the night. I did not post to say I was mad because I can go back and it's not that big of a deal, but I think the point is that we or actually Cedar Point needs to realize that some people get seriously P'ed off. I saw several yelling at the police officer about it, and there was nothing he could do, he was just trying to do his job. Just one more note on the music... yes families are the DESIRED guests because that means more money, but when your in line for a thrill ride the MAJORITY is young adults. Maybe it's a good idea to play more of the "classics" jsut to avoid people complaining about not liking rap, or R&B, or country etc... but the people I was with were so excited to get back to the car and listen to some good music. It was actually pretty funny.
in our line for magnum they were playing 80's music but people seemed to like it. there was one song (i dont know the name of it but i remember some of the words like "i want to... (two big bass beats) get away) with a huge bass line (gotta love 80's music for that) and people were bobbing their heads to it when the two big bass notes came in. maybe they were just really bored...

If you go to Cedar Point for the sole intention on riding Dragster, you are preparing yourself for some dissappointment. Go the park and enjoy what CP has to offer and don't place so much interest on Dragster.

Johnz, that song is "Tainted Love." I shouldn't know 80's music as well as I do.

i like how Magnum plays 80's music, its like its themed to the decade it was built, which is pretty cool...
i say Gemini needs 70's/ disco music...
and every time ive been in line for Millennium Force, there is the DJ Fat Man from Detroit (WOO) Michigan. i always look over to my friends and say "god, we're surrounded by bad drivers..." when i hear this, but he makes the wait very enjoyable with his crazy mixes and insults of the Electric Lemonade. "Thats not lemonade, thats kool- aid. theres too much sugar in there for that to be lemonade"...
and his mixes usually dont have much 80's in them...
