Audio spiels are still here for Iron Dragon and Corkscrew when I rode them. However, they are all new with two animated kidish voices on them.

I was both happy and sad to see the auto spiels go. I was soo happy that Magnum's was gone because that one was soo annoying but I liked the ones on Millennium and Twister and I miss the Republica music on the Dragster.
BABY I'M READY TO GO!!!!!!

i think i'm one of the only ones that liked the auto spiels. :) at least on the new rides. raptor and magnum are great without them because that's how they were to begin with. but, the new coasters have always been like that and that's how i know them. i don't like when they toy with my memories. :)
No music at Dragster today... I noticed spiels on Iron Dragon, Mantis, & Screw.
The Magnum guy from last year that did his own cool spiels is at Mean Streak this year.
Matt, I think?
Does Mantis really have one now? If so they weren't using it yesterday or when it first opened this morning.

On another thread it says that the Millennium Force station music is gone. I pray to God it comes back because I love that music!!!
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I know us too! I really liked WT's and MF. Plus it was fun to mock the corkscrews. I hate that maxair's is gone too. Now we all have to learn the new ones. lol *** Edited 5/8/2006 5:04:08 AM UTC by RyanNRobert***
I'm sorry did I just say "The Cskrew's?" How stupid...I make fun of people that call the rides..."The ??"
I mean Plus it was fun to mock Cork Screw's Spiel.
I was very very happy about the death of the autospiels, although I'm not optimistic enough to believe they're gone for good. With Corkscrew getting a new one (and I guess Iron Dragon too although I didn't ride it) I'm lead to suspect that maybe there's a wording change and they didn't have time to record all the new spiels yet. At the same time, the nice wireless mics they had on Magnum, Dragster, and I think a few other rides (Gemini and Mean Streak maybe?) leads me to believe that the human spiels are back.
Millennium's spiel was done by the guy in the booth, no wireless mic, so I'm lead to believe the recording is coming back. Power Tower's was also done by the person in the booth for each individual tower. Not sure if that was more or less annoying than the one really loud spiel for all four towers. I didn't pay attention to whether there was wireless for Wicked Twister's spiel.
The people doing the spiels (along with all the employees I encountered yesterday) were very friendly and enthusiastic. Granted, opening day is definately the peak for finding up beat employees, as they haven't been dealing with stupid people for weeks or months on end yet, but this year just seems so much better than ever before. The guy at Dragster (when they first started having loads of downtime around 6 or so in the evening) was really good on the spiels, as was the guy on Magnum when I rode and the girl(s) on Skyhawk in the morning and evening. I really hope the live spiels are back to stay.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I thought some of you guys might be excited about the return of ride op spieling. :) I heard the news a couple days before the park opened and I can say that I'm much more excited about no auto-spiels than I am about what's going on where WWL used to be.
The excitement and interaction between ride ops and guests has returned to Cedar Point, and for that I am extremely happy. I just can't wait to hear Magnum being spieled again, and obviously the "How was your ride?!!!!!!" that I've missed so much. I really hope this is a sign of more things to come.
Heck, this should have been announced as a "new for 2006" attraction :)

I too heard about it just before the park opened, and you can bet I was pretty happy to hear it. :)
I'll have to see how its working out when I get down there tomorrow.
According to my secret inside source, Captain Kirby from Paddlewheel Excursions, they are apparently eliminating a large number of auto-spiels this year. If that is true, it would be a great thing.

Now I can't wait for Friday. Getting to hear spiels done the way they were meant to be.

The best news of all was that the three most annoying auto-spiels outside the park seem to be gone: the lift-hill recordings for Magnum, Gemini and Raptor.
The new recording on Corkscrew sounds AWFUL. I couldn't hear the message on account of all the static.
The new recording on Iron Dragon is pretty much inaudible. So I don't know if it contains the same mistake as last year's auto-spiel ("...exit carefully to your right.")
Some of the people doing spiels yesterday need to tone down a little. First of all, they were blowing the mics and speakers, second they are going to wreck their voices with all the shouting. Spiels should be spoken, not screamed. Fortunately, that is one of those things that is self-correcting with time.

I'm glad to hear that even the lift spiels are gone, although I don't remember one for Gemini or Raptor. Not that you could hear Raptor's above the anti-rollbacks.

that's why i liked the auto spiels on MF, TTD and WT. you could hear and understand them. plus, with the music, it added to the ride experience.
I like the spiels on MF, Wicked Twister, and TTD. MaxAirs was alright. But on all the others, I would prefer a ride op does it because they can really make it a lot funnier. For example, the Mantis and Gemini ops really made it fun the other day saying all their crazy lines.
