matt- the first few seasons the magnum operated, there were strobes, colored lights, sound effects and fog in at least the final tunnel. The lights that go up the first hill also used to be strobes and they used to "shoot" up and down the hill really fast.
Back to MF- i think that they should light the sucka up, and (ala raptor) dim the beams as a train goes by. That way, riders get a dark ride, and it is lit up beautifully for the lesser-willed guests.
