Nickel and Dime

What'd they do, ring it up as a souvenir cup refill? Again, never have they even looked at the POS (register). We got two at a time throughout the day at CM and every trip this season.

On this hand: second hand information about someone being charged for water.

On that hand: a number of people saying they haven't been charged for water.

Hmmm...

Maybe they are charging $.99 for a "regular" size water(with ice?) as compared to the small cups they give for free?

Were they at a Coke Freestyle stand? We used it to get the Dansani flavored water in our souvenir cups. We didn't have to pay since our cups scanned as free at the stand that day.

During Coaster Mania we got free cups of water all day. At one of the stands, I don't remember which, the server, a guy, put ice into a 20oz cup and we stopped him saying we wanted water. His reply was, "you want ice in it don't you?" We a 20oz cup of water with ice FREE.

With free water and drinking fountains all over the park why would anyone be dumb enough to pay for tap water?

And if they were to charge for water, does .99 seem like an amount they should even come up with? How bout a buck? .95?

I mean, I'm not doubting it. But kinda...

I was given a full sized cup of water on Thursday night, too. So was my buddy. It was REALLY nice.

At least it's not like the Cleveland Indians charging $3.50 for a 22 oz cup of water. They no longer sell bottled water at food stands.

Are there still bins at GK? All we carry is the .99 mug, will we be able to store it?

I was at the Indians game on May 30. Bottled water (20oz Aquafina) was $4.00 and could be bought at concession stands and from in-seat vendors. Pepsi and such (20oz) was $5.50.

Should be able to, they were cracking down on small backpacks and purses.....but you better hurry, those bins fill up quick with everyone's huge sun glasses and hats!!

There are still bins at GK, but last I heard they are only for hats, glasses, and flip flops. I'm pretty sure you can't stash your cups in them.(Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

I had free water today. It was delicious and refreshing, but it cost me a smile and a "thank you."

At least they didn't charge you a "please". I always have to give extras of those when I want a cup of water.

Nope. They will not let you bring your cups in the like for GK or put them in the bins. You have to use one of the lockers right across from there. That being said, the lockers are cheap there for a 2 hour rental timeframe, so it isnt that bad.

Thanks Marcie916, I thought that was the case. I've only taken a cup into GK's line once, but that was just a regular drink cup that I threw away before we got to the station to board.

News update: Free water is still not 99 cents. I didn't pay a dime for water yesterday.

I was also there yesterday. I may have seen you and not known it. Best part was no waits for anything.

No kidding! I couldn't believe how many rides we got on. We hung out on the water rides the whole time it was raining, from about 5:45 until 7:15 or so. Took a few spins on Shoot the Rapids, and each time, we got stuck at the base of the 2nd lift with the tires spinning under us like they couldn't grip the boat, and only moved forward when rear-ended by the next boat. Onboxious.

I don't know where you were hanging out most of the time, but we were everywhere. I was wearing a grey and orange waterproof North Face jacket and I have tattoos all over my legs, so if you saw that guy, you saw me. :)

Usually I got a photographic memory and would've noticed something like tattoos. I remember seeing a guy wearing a Call of Duty Black Ops II t-shirt a few times yesterday. I was on most of the major rides yesterday. I was mostly back on the Gemini midway and Maverick, but I went on most major rides. I left around 7 last night. I was wearing a black t-shirt that said New Heights Digital on it, I always wear that to the park to help advertise my business.
