It is interesting that in the Midwest (Ohio as the midwest *is* debatable) Pepsi is much more common then Coke. In the east, it is reversed.
"Ohio as the midwest *is* debatable"
Ever been to Toledo? That area of the state is like East Iowa :)

The only Coke product I like is Sprite, and I drink that stuff everyday.

DO you know how many people of the GP will be upset if they get ride of Mountain Dew?!?!? I bet the ratio of MD drinkers to Pepsi dinkers is at least 5:2. Coke has Mellow Yellow, but it just doesn't have the same taste. The refreshments in the queue either make or break the CP experience.
Right on, Joe, I don't care either. I usually purchase unsweetened iced tea when I am at a park anyhow.
Parrothead, Mmmmmm... Gyros *drool*drool* (ala Homer Simpson)

Only 2,290½ miles from Cedar Po!nt.
I vote for real lemonade or a nice cold CLEAN water fountain.
Gemini:
I am originally from the East Coast and most people there consider anything west of PA and east of the Rockies to be "Midwest" However, I have relatives in Iowa and they all consider Ohio to be an eastern state. Personally, I tend to lean more towards Ohio as the midwest. Around Toledo may look like Iowa but around Athens looks like Virginia. The coke/pepsi dichotomy is still a hard call in Ohio. In the east, Pepsi in a restaurant is very rare, in Iowa, coke in a restuarant is very rare. In Ohio, it is easy to find both.
This thread is making me thirsty!!
Yeah, I think I need a Mountain Dew break. LOL!
What about Srite, If Coke comes that means sprite, cherry coke, and Minute maid drinks will follow in cedar point. All those drinks are made by Coca Cola Enterprises
I typically lump into into Central Plains and Great Lakes, personally.
Pepsi all the way. Coke is swill unfit for human consumption.
I would never have thought a thread about a soda brand would get so long... *Grin*

In 91, Pepsi won the contract. Before that coke seemed to go over very well! Even though it was the only thing CP was selling except in the employee areas. In those areas you could also find RC cola as well.
WOW! I hope this is true because I like Coke best ! Pepsi's good ,but things go better with Coke! I'm drinking a Caffeine-Free diet Coke right now! And make sure you brush tour teeth at least once a day if you're concerned about dental hygeine.
P.S. Does this mean SFO might get Pepsi?
I bet Coke will plaster their name all over CP
and put in a couple of Coca-Cola Cool Zones like PKI and SFO have already. You'll be seeing Coca-Cola classic, Diet Coke, Sprite, Barq's, Surge, Minute Maid Sodas, Frozen Coke, and Dasani all over the place. They'll also get exclusive pouring rights
for fountain drinks all over the place!
Always Coca-Cola, visit www.cocacola.com , www.dietcoke.com ,www.dasani.com, www.minutemaid.com, and www.thecocacolacompany.com.
Ya know, a thought just occured to me. If Coke is already at PKI and SFO, don't you think Pepsi would fight tooth and nail to keep their product at CP? I can't imagine they would sit on their hands and let Coke walk all over them.
If this is true, I'm gonna miss gettin a cool Dew on a hot day at the park, and no, I don't drink Surge. Nasty, nasty stuff! :-)

The Coke/Pepsi rumor could be very true, just seems that way too me. I hate only liking to drink regular Pepsi or Dew at CP. I like regular Coke better, plus Coke could bring Sprite and Dr. Pepper to tag along

Hometown parks: Kennywood, Cedar Point!
Feel the Force NOW!!
1)Dr. Pepper is a Pepsi product
2)Mr. Pibb is better!!
3)Coke is better
4)Coke doesn't try to act better than Pepsi, they know they have the better product.
5)Mellow Yellow is better.
6)I really wouldn't mind that change at all!!!!
Dr. Pepper is bottled by either Coke or Pepsi, depending on where you live. Here in the metro Detroit area, Dr. Pepper is bottled by Coca-Cola (yes, I know this from working at a party store and watching it being unloaded off the truck, and having to sort those #(!* bottle returns to go back to Coca-Cola) It's a strange phenomenon that has never really been explained.... if anyone can explain this pop juggling act, I'd be intrigued.
And as far as it goes... I'm a Coke drinker all the way.. Pepsi is vile, and leaves that disgusting sugary film on the inside of your mouth. As for Mountain Dew... pour it right into the sewers... you know what's a main ingredient in Mountain Dew to make it so smooth? Vegetable Oil. Yep... you're drinkin' a big ole' bottle of Wesson with each and every 20 oz. of Mt. Dew... don't believe me? Check the ingredients.. it's flat out gross =)
It's about time. I haven't bought a pop at CP in years. Alot of Coke drinkers are die hards. They will not drink Pepsi no matter what. But most people I know that drink Pepsi seem to drink what ever is around. I think its because if they can stomach Pepsi, they can drink anything. LOL
Now all we need is some beer carts running around. Today...is a good day.
