Well, I have to say, time flies shoveling snow when you're watching the couple across the street try to get through a foot and half of snow using a hoe and a rake... That of course was after they tried to back through a 3 foot pile of snow at the end of their driveway from the plow using their small car... :)

^ I would think it would take longer since I'd be too busy laughing and just watching than actually shoveling my drive.
Goodbye MrScott
John
In the 12 years I was in school there was one day, ONLY ONE FREAKIN day in 12 years where school actually closed. I was in grade 8 and we had a huge ice storm. Last week I turn on one of the Detroit news (not even just last week, any day in general) and there are at least a dozen schools closed because of maybe 2 inches of snow. I've been saying since December I wanted a snowfall of at least 8 inches. I got it last night and now I am content. I am ready for spring. The wind was houling all night last night and shovelling this morning was a task. When I got to work this morning the lot was only partly plowed. When I left tonight they finished plowing and plowed me right into my spot. It was not hard to get out, but then I got how and my driveway was plowed in. I really am ready for spring.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Over here in NE Indiana we got slammed really hard. If you weren't traveling to/from work yesterday, you were getting ticketed. We're still under a level 2 snow emergency and we haven't gotten any snow since last night when it ended. The roads here in town are actually worse than several of the country roads...go figure that one out.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
How are they going to actualy know if you are going to or from work in order to ticket you?

After 40 years of living in Ohio, I moved to Charlotte, NC 2 years ago. I remember shoveling tons of snow in my lifetime. I don't miss it. I feel for you guys shoveling and dealing with the snow, ice, and cold. In Charlotte, we just got rain with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. The weather here is so much better. And now we have a Cedar Fair park here!!!

If you're a teenager driving around in the day, then its pretty obvious that you aren't going to/from work on a day with school canceled. I think the main idea of that is to keep the "inexperienced" teens off the roads because of the hazardous conditions. Now, if you're driving like a maniac and you're an adult, then chances are you weren't on your way to or from work. ;)

I don't know Mike... I've seen adults drive like maniacs on their way to and from work...

I wasn't talking about those that like to try to make a 10-15 minute drive in 5 minutes. ;) Where I live, if you're driving erratically then you're either drunk or an old person who shouldn't have their license any more.

I drove the Chausee on Friday. Many drifts were higher than my truck. The rip rap and retaining walls east of the road acted as a snow fence and the snow piled up. Looked pretty cool. CP looked like a winter wonderland! Now that we reached a balmy 39F (in my town), it felt plenty warm for a coaster ride in NWOH today. Enjoy the snow while you can, it's on it's way out soon! :)
