I would love to see him stay longer, there's been nothing but good things happen for CF since he took control.

Ride on, MrScott!
I think Cedar Fair should stay in Sandusky.

I think that entire line of rumor was taken out of context. I don't recall ever seeing anything about them thinking about a move, only that the lease on the PP office was expiring and that they weren't sure if they'd continue to operate an office there.

If Kinzel is staying, that is wonderful news. I like his last comment in the article too. I wonder what's next....?

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Agreed. Having read the original articles, I never once was left with the impression that leaving Sandusky was even an option.
IMO, it makes since for him to stick around during the transition. While you probably cannot put a hard number of years that will take, if I were a shareholder in CF I would feel safer knowing he was at the helm a little longer.
Kinzel is retirining. Retirement means you work because you want to not because you have to. Don't confuse retirement with falling off the face of the earth.
I thought Retirement meant moving to Florda and buying a Corvette...

You accomplished your "goal".
Holy Crap! It's 91 here in Holland, I hope it's not that warm in Sandusky!

Your post is simply put, wrong.
Kinzel is the best thing to happen to the park ever since they decided to save the park in the 1950s. I'm guessing many of us wouldn't even be fans if it weren't for him (Magnum, Raptor, MF, WT, TTD, etc. were all him). Cedar Fair was the only amusement park company to stay strong during the time following Sept. 11. He's done nothing but good and I would love to see him hold it out for a few more years.

He is only one man and one man does not make those kind of decisions. Did he have input? Sure, but he is no God like you make him out to be.

Well, I was wondering how long it was going to take before the thing about his retirement was going to come out. I was affraid to say anything because I thought it was too good to be true.

^That's true, but he was the key that inspired Magnum and that started it all. Not just for CP, but for many of the parks you see big coasters at. He also built up the resorts that made CP a destination instead of a one day thing. Just think MrScott, NO LP.
