Fox 8 Cleveland just did a story about Skyhawk being Closed. They talked to Robin Innes who said that they had to close the ride Saturday night because of a part that had become a problem, and might cause more problems in the future. To prevent it having downtime at another point in the season, the park decided that they wanted to go ahead and replace the part now. The part is on order and they hope to reopen Skyhawk by the end of the week.

people would've heard a cable break though, right? they run up the huge blue bases of the structure. you can see them come out the top of the ride and wrap around the "wheels".
Fox 8's story sounds bogus. the ride obviously malfunctioned - we've seen the video.
It might be just me, but I've heard on a few occansions that CP fixes a lot of ride temporarly. That's not a bad thing, because I'm rest assured that I'm safe. I'm just guessing that CP knew about this problem, but needed the ride to operate on Media Day and Opening Day. I'm sure they weren't expecting it to break so soon, but it did and I DIDN'T GET TO RIDE IT! :(
