Is there some kind of Curse with these rides now... Ever since TTD they have had downtime with maXair as well. Not as bad as TTD but it seems like there could be a curse. Skyhawk is the latest victim.
"If it looks good, you'll see it; if it sounds good, you'll hear it, if it's marketed right, you'll buy it; but... if it's real, you'll feel it."
i feel bad for CP at this point. they try so hard to bring us cool stuff that we'll like and things like this keep happening. i guess that's what happens when you always try to make the biggest and best though. you're venturing into uncharted territories.
i have hope they'll fix it though. maybe stan hasn't gone back to utah and can help them fix it? :)
To me, opening day felt like the park wasn't ready to open since I saw a bunch of rides down at different times throughout the evening. I have faith though, I've already saw changes in the right direction for the guest experience. Can we say 25 cent cotton candy?
As for Skyhawk and maXair, I hope they get those rides up and running soon.

I found it a little funny that they already have a Skyhawk is closed sign. Maybe they make them for all new rides now.
djDaemon,
There was one year I think is was '02 or '03 that Magnum was an absolute mess with the lapbar restraints. By the end of the day about 1/3 of the lapbars had orange tape over them and one girl got to ride Magnum something like 10 times in a row until maintenance could bail her out because her lapbar was stuck towards the end of the day.
It was quite amusing to see.
I'm sure there are other hiccups in the beginning of the year each season at Cedar Point, but it was pretty noticable that the rides were seeing some significant downtime.

So, no reason to cancel my trip on the 19th then? ;)
It was somewhat of a disheartening feeling to read all of the posts about downtime on so many rides this weekend.

Clark said Sunday the Top Thrill Dragster has been open all weekend with minor delays.
Need I say more.:)

Hopefully everything is fixed by Thursday the 11th!! I'm going that day to get my pass. This is my first post on here, I'm new to this....so I hope it's fun :)

If by all weekend he means closed 1/2 the day Sunday with downtime every 6 or 7 launches. Then you need say no more.
I'm sure the folks stuck in unload for 15 minutes were really happy.
I too am going the 11th for school. I want to see my teachers reaction on Skyhawk.:)

This is really not the publicity they need... ;)

I remember opening day for MF was problematic. They were only certified to run 2 trains at that point. They didn't have the dispatch intervals figured out, and the magnetic brakes that move back and forth were sticking and crews were having to push each train into the station. All this combined for a 6 hour wait. I remember being interviewed by a local Toledo TV station, and I was still in line waiting to ride when they aired the segment on the 6PM news!
Yeah I was kind of suprised they said Dragster was running with minor delays.... From what I heard it sounded like it was delayed with minor runnings....

Stan actually doen't do any sort of engineering work for S&S. He just has the "visions" and the people who work for him turn them into reality. There was a good article about him in Rolling Stone magazine a few years ago.
As for Dragster, it is a mess. On Saturday trains kept stopping before they were fully parked in the unload 1 position, which caused a good 15 minute delay just about every time trains were moved. Maybe for next off season if they don't have any major motor work, they can find someone who knows how to straighten out the mess made by the thousands of sensors and the ride's programming.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
