Got ya, CP2000...Didn't mean to "offend" you by my comment if you do, just had to play Devil's advocate..
mikey :)
Again, I wasn't involved/interested in it at all around the time MF was revealed, but it's not really standard for parks to announce their upcoming attraction in July.
And by the way... According to this site's news archive, track was spotted on July 8, 1999 and Millennium Force was officially announced July 22. It's a little more than "a few days," but you get the idea.
The Construction Archives from the official Cedar Point website run from September 15th '99 to June June 13, 2000. Apparently, it ran first on April 10th. That's a seven month time period. Sizeable chunk of time, I'd say.

How dare you vanquish the Steel Phantom without his consent? Fear the Phantom's Revenge.
Blah blah blah... Those who know don't tell, those who tell don't know.(TM)
Actually, site prep for The Force began before the 1999 season even started. Remember when we were all asking why the train was moved out all the way to the road?

Hold on, CP2000, I think you are underestimating Jeff and his powerful proverb...
Uh Oh, Did Mr. CP2000and Beyond DARE To Correct Our "leader", Mr. Jeff? I think there is going to be hell to pay! Anyone can believe what you tell them to, CP2000..but like MOST of the EDUCATED folks who post on here...I am going to take the word of Jeff, and a few others over the word of "you", "your friend", and "someone's sister who works at the park". The announcement will be made sometime this year, and then we will have the "official" word...but until then I am going to listen to Jeff, and a few others...and NOT "somebody's sister!"
And That's The Bottom Line, 'Cause Mikey Said So!
:) mikey
Well she was right in April of 1999 about the force. So I am going to believe her and say nothing more about What else I know because I always get shot down over something.Hello people can express things and they shouldnt always be corrected If you dont believe them Mr. Master.
I'm still waiting for my dream Boardwalk...

Who is your sister, the Lemon Chill girl?
-------------
"They invented laziness, but I perfected it!"
Probably sure whatever I didnt know the lemon chill people worked year around. She works in the office why all you people full of excuses towards me huh.
I think a boardwalk would be lovely, cost efficient and different. Does anyone notice the lack of character between the "themed" sections. Cedar Point really needs to spend more time than they do on non-coaster things--I think it would improve the Cedar Point experience on the whole.
(sigh)....

LMAO@ APFORCE..VERY funny comment...
Mr. Spartan..very interesting comment ;)
mikey
p.s. my sister's best friend's dad knows a guy who knows a girl who works in the cp office as well, and he told me that 2002 would be the LONGEST, TALLEST, FASTEST Steel Roller Coaster in the world, that had 15 inversions, and went underground, and through Lake Erie and passed by the Lemon Chill stand to get a beverage before the ride ended. So it seems that 2002 will be a VERY good year for us :)
I saw Millennium Force transfer track on July 5th,1999. And I remember how my pal who works there told me that the day after the '99 season's last day, the train tracks actually collapsed, interesting. Oh and also some parks announce stuff early,I would logically guess, for construction time, like Son of Beast was announced in May of 1999. Then again...Stealth was announced in June of '99 when the thing was under construction a year prior to that already. I do think a wooden coaster is very likely though...when my friend and I had lunch with Mr. Miears(before the '00 season), we suggested a woodie, and he said "There won't be any wooden coasters as long as I'm around because of maintenance". So, I guess we do have to wait.
Haha Very Funny Olympic NOT! For all you that so called say oh you dont know then so be it! And the smart allacks who like to crack jokes about it and the lemon chill dude can quit.Alotta people know things some just choose not to say a word for they get bashed like this. And Jeff for which knows everything so to speak.....Everyone has there own opinions and words to say.So why dont you act mature enough to let the opinions run through pal!
Your Lips Are Moving, CP2000, But All I Hear Is BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...Think Whatever You Want, Dude...Remember Jeff's Proverb ;)
mikey
Ok so where does your friends sister works at....the last time I just checked there are more than one office at Cp. I'm not saying you are wrong or right I'm just the curious one :) and maybe next time when I'm in town I could maybe sneak some details from my "lifer" friends there :)
THIS IS BOB
I have a friend who's Fathers Sisters uncles cousins former roommate (Anyone remember what movie that was from ;) ) works at CP and thinks we are also getting a TA2K .
We can claim anything, someone has to be right. That person who stole Greg's password could be right. However, someone on this site who gives no comments on the matter also gives no comment on antother site , yet hints about a differnt sort of ride that Dick likes which is made by a company that has the letters I, C, and I in thier name. (whatever that means). Again, this person is not talking which by law means they may know something ;). I may be wrong on that though.
Sorry, I don't mean any harm, I just find this hole discussion very amusing. :). I hope your wrong Greg (or David ;) I want a CCI, but you may be right. Who knows, it's all in good humor. This is the most fun I had in an off season listening to what CP will get next.
