20-ounce Pepsi soft drink bottle was $2.75, now $2.39

Hmm... I don't remember 20oz Pepsi's costing $2.75 - I thought they were $3.00. Regardless, I'm glad the price has gone down, but I betcha they're gonna find a lot of quarters, dimes and pennies underneath Raptor. :)

From what I have seen doing clean up in TTD line the machines are priced at 2.50.

I dont think the article was referring to the bottled drink machines on the midways. The $2.39 new price is for fountain drinks at food stands.

I am very interested in how this new pricing structure will work this year. As a unit holder, I hope the new pricing structure brings in enough people to make up the reduced gate prices resulting in a large increase for in park spending. Lower food costs = more money for souvenirs.

Bold moves by the park, but I am sure they have done their market studies to base these decisions on.

Perhaps they were referring to the price of a 20oz bottle at food kiosks, though I thought they only sold fountain sodas at such places. This would make more sense - $2.39 at a food stand, or $2.50 at a machine, as opposed to $2.75 and $3.00.

Its kinda silly that they're charging a mid-dollar amount, in my opinion. Still, though, for every 5 bottles purchased, you essentially get one free. This will help save money, especially for families when combined with all of the other reductions.

The one that caught my eye the most was the hot dog meal basket dropping from $5.89 to $3.99. That's a 32% price drop!

Some of those things went down $3.00. Kudos to CP on this one.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

My family had sticker shock last year. Kudos to CP for the improvments, especally with gas prices shooting up faster than TTD at full song!

I for one think they have finally woken up to what many guests have been saying for such a long time, perceived value. Sure they can charge me 6 bucks for a hot dog and fries with a pop, but am I more likely to go off point to eat? Yep. But, at 4 bucks (times 4 for my family) I'm looking at a comparable price to say McD's off point, and I'd lose all that time. So am I now more likely to eat on point? Yep. And I’m pretty sure at 4 bucks there's still a hefty profit margin in that product.

I think CP is moving in the right direction, bring back a bit more of that small park feel... well, the small park feel with 16 large coasters. So far, I'm very impressed with the last few years’ improvements.

Now, what about those 6 dollar beers in Red Garter?

Normally, I'm not one to whine about prices at amusement parks. But, comparing directly, I paid less for much better food at Walt Disney World than I did at Cedar Point last year. This is a welcome change.

It will be interesting to see if volume goes up enough to cover the drop.

Not only that, but I can't wait to get some perch! Pete's been saying this for a while, and I'm glad someone finally listened.

Mea culpa.

Oh, I didn't mean that it was my idea. Pete and Tank led that charge. I just meant "close enough" as in the location in my post from last year. Mr. Potato is one of the places serving perch this year. :)

The one thing they really need to lower is the pop. If im really that thirsty, I can go back up to my hotel room and drink the $1.00 pop I bought. Why are they always more expencive in amusement parks and sports games?

djDaemon's avatar

Because people will pay for it.

Brandon

Where are Pizza Hut pizzas available in the park? I read that at the end of the article and said "Huh?"

If im really that thirsty, I can go back up to my hotel room and drink the $1.00 pop I bought.

See, now I wouldn't walk the 30 minutes round trip to my hotel to save $3.

You mean, to save $1.50.
