I have the set of shot glasses with all of the coasters built after 1990, Woodstock Express says 1999.

Don't worry too much about rumors right now. Remember that the Screamscape rumor board is just that. Anyone can start a rumor. As for Cedar Point letting people down for maybe going more that 2 years without a new coaster I don't think so. If the park did nothing and added no new rides or attractions then I would worry. Just think of how lucky we are to live in this era of the park's history. In 1929 the park built the Cyclone which turned out to be the last major ride added in THIRTY years. And even when you go back to the 1980s new coasters were rare. Between 1979 and 1985 then added no new coasters at all.

Yeah and parks like Busch rarely build new coasters. You'll see a new coaster at one of there parks maybe every 5 years or so.

"Baby I'm ready to go!" Dragster 2004

I once did not care if they built a new coaster every year or every other year. It did not make my decision to go or not. However, since CP never seems to be a "reasonable" priced trip (one-dayer or not) anymore, I would rather see new attractions being added yearly. Of course its not feasable for CP to build a new coaster every year, but maybe find a way to change things up from season to season, something that I haven't done at CP. Of course they could also add a new attraction for next season called "friendly employees". I really don't know what happened, but somewhere in the past couple of seasons, CP's employees have become very rude and not very helpful. (<-and flaming begins in 4,3,2,...) If I'm paying the $$ I expect to be treated kindly.

You're right about the flaming. CP's employees are the nicest park employees I've come across, even Disney. And they are adding yearly attractions. MaXair, Castaway Bay what do you call those. There are other great attractions except record breaking coasters. And they are fairly reasonable for a vacation like resort which is what they are shooting for. It's not cheap but what is anymore. It's moved up in price just as most amusement parks are. You want the best park in the world, you have to pay for the best.

Cedar Point is doing a great job in adding rides and attractions. And for the most part, they have nice employee's. All except the Millenium Force crew, they seemed a bit rude. I understand they had their hands full with the seat belt problems, but that is no excuse to be rude to the ppl that paid to get into the park.

New attractions aren't everything. The improvements for 2004 were awesome. The park looked so much better than 2003 it was amazing, and there wasn't even anything that looked bad before. If they decide to not build a new ride, I love to see more of these park improvements.

Painting a ride or just improving appearances of building or structures around the park does do a lot to improve the parks appearance and overall atmosphere. Unlike many other people I like the paint job that Iron Dragon received. I think it looks very nice and really stands out, but there were other coasters that were more deserving *cough* Magnum *cough*. Adding new roller coasters every year isn't necessary, I would rather them put more time and money into building a new coaster maybe every 2 or 3 years with new flat rides in between.

I think the reason Cedar Point has not painted Magnum yet is because of its location. The majority of the park will not even get close enough to notice that Magnum needs painted. Now MIllenium force on the other hand, is more noticable when it needs to be painted, because of the queue.

I like the colour that they painted Millennium, the cobalt blue stands out nicely and the trains match it. The paint job is only 5 years old and it is a bit rough, but I don't think it needs immediate attention.

Magnum on the other hand is going on its 16th year. I think it could use a bit of an over haul. Magnum is one of the park's larger coasters so I think they should do something to make it stand out. If they painted the ride supports the same grey-silver colour as Millennium's and paint the track a bright red-orange to make it nice and sharp. The Magnum trains are a but blah. If you look at the trains on Millennium they are sharp and look excellent and the same applies to Dragster. I realize that Magnum is an older coaster but I think it would be nice if the Magnum trains could be updated or replaced.

I love fesh painted rides until people start thinking that McDonald's is backing your rides.

WOW !!!!! Looked nice, maybe Maggie needs more of a pain job than i realized.

How much do you think it would cost to repaint a ride like Magnum or Millenium Force ?

Thats a very good question, I would imagine that painting a coaster the size of Magnum or Millennium would be very expensive, for the paint and the labour.

It would also prabebly depend on the color of the coaster. The green color on Raptor is prabebly more expensive than the red color for Magnum. Or vise versa.
