newbie and lifeguard questions...

Hi there!
I'm starting as a lifeguard at CP on may 20th and I have a few questions... like what kind of shoes should I bring? What is the job like?
Also, my sister is starting as a ride host 2 weeks and a few days after I start, is there any way we can room together?

you can ask but the rule is that you can only hold a room for 2 weeks tops. As for shoes, I was not a lifeguard but I had many lifeguard friends and they all wore crocs to work. Make sure you also bring sunglasses.

Hey there! Late response.. buttttt as a lifeguard at soak city you are required to wear a shoe that can go in the water and has a backstrap.. so crocs or sandals that have a strap that goes around the ankle.. so no flip flops..and if you talk to someone in housing it probably wont be a problem to room wiht your sister.. the ladies that work in housing are typically nice as long as you are nice to them :)

So what's CP's take on Vibram Five Fingers? Anyone wear them before?

a couple emts did, the only thing I came across was that they wear out easily. ALL shoes are gonna wear out its just what your comfortable with. Last summer I went through 3 pairs of crocs

If you want to room with your sister just lie and say that she is coming in a week or so. Then after that week go back and be like "ohhh something came up at home and she is going to be a few more days". Just keep doing that until she gets there and you'll be fine.

Or you could reserve the spot for two weeks and go back and reserve it for two more until she gets there like youre supposed to do there is no reason to lie to housing it could get you in trouble and you really dont want to get the people in charge of housing mad at you
