New York/Chicago trips?

So for past employee's, I noticed one of the perks of working at CP is free bus fare to Chicago, New York, Niagara Falls and more. Did anyone take advantage of the ability to do this? If so, how did you manage since I've read you generally only get one day off a week?

well the trips arent free, you have to pay for them but the cost varies per trip and can be payroll deducted.. you usually just get one day off a week but you can put in a request for multiple days off as long as its well before the time off you want and they dont always get approved

You do pay for the trips, although I remember they were all very reasonable.

From what I recall, all trips during the regular season were day trips. The longer trips to NY/DC were during the week in early September once the park goes to weekends only.

When it comes to Chicago, the trip cost somewhere around $50, and all you did was go to Navy Pier for a few hours. For me, that is not worth it since I live here for school, and Navy Pier is free. But I get the gas costs and whatever
They had a trip to King's Island that ended up not going through because not enough people signed up, which is really a shame because you get in for free with your employee ID and it would have been fun to go with my new CP friends. I've never been there.

I went to the Niagara falls trip this past summer and I paid $38. You had to be at the bus by 6 am. got out there about maybe 11? they drop you off and you got to sight see for yourself for a couple hours. I am not sure when we had to leave by, but I'm really glad I went. It was well worth it because the bus was nice, I didn't have to drive & didn't pay for gas. I'm sure it'll probably go up this year because of the gas prices. But it was well worth it! Just make sure you wanna go if you're an organized person and make the best of your time. I did the Maid of the Mist and it was definitely worth it! Do the trips if you're interested! you'll need it!
