Well I managed to spend 2 days doing something age appropriate for New Years which was a trip to Sandusky to go to Kalahari. While I had a BLAST at Kalahari, it's not the focus of this TR. After fun was had at Kalahari, there's always a time when your swimming and you say to yourself "Ok, enough is enough" and you feel the need to dry off and stop the pruning process. So my friends and I sat and tried to think of things to do. Well being in the area, I suggested that we visit Cedar Point as just seeing CP in all it's glory is enough for any CP fan.;)
They agreed and we started off. Unfortunatly it was around 5 and the snow storm rolled in. I realized seeing CP was all for not since I couldn't even see 3/4 of a mile in front of me. We started up the causeway and I was well aware of the boundaries. So I decided to turn around not before taking these pictures.

Did I mention it was cold, windy and miserable?:)

So on our way down back towards 2, we decided to stop at McDonalds before we started the 1 3/4 hr drive home through the storm. What I didnt realize was that within the 2 months since I was last in Sandusky, the McDonalds on 250 by the Red Lobster had been demolished and a new one with the new modern design had been built about 40+ yards south of it. Apon entering I quickly decided this was my favorite McDonalds in the world. Here's why:

And the pièce de résistance:

So as you can see, I was in heaven and will surely visit that McDonalds for many trips to come.
In conclusion, I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Years holiday and can look forward to a great 2008 season

That McDonalds is a great new store. I was totally surprised to see that it was brand new. I had seen pictures of some of the interior from friends, but thought they simply remodeled. Imagine my surprise when I visited Sandusky in mid-December for a Kalahari trip to find a brand new McDonalds. Good times.

Wow, they had to have built that really fast. Is McDonalds on the old Dickey's property?

Hey Adam
Did that old man in the first McDonald's photo wig out on you for taking his picture? He looked a little perturbed there eating with his wife. :-)
Construction was well underway on Closing Weekend. When I was at the old store in September they had a little news letter up saying that they were building a new store. Even then construction had started on the foundation.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

He just looks like someone eating at McCrappy's to me. ;)
You're telling me, but when it is 12:30am on a Saturday night after a 14 hour shift, as much as I regret it, McCrappy's hits the spot.

I like this transition for McDonalds. I think these subtle differences are what make "theme park cities" just that.
I almost....almost want to eat some of there totally unhealthy food.
^Did you opt out for CP's great variety of healthy food? ;)
We're Americans and we're fat, but at least the food taste good.

That McDonalds just outside CP is more costly? Aka no dollar menu?
What did I do at CP? My girlfriend and I would buy one single hot dog from one of them stands and split it.
We ate a slice of pizza each one day, T.G.I Fridays a few times, Famous Daves once. Note these instances are times when we have ate close to the park as possible because the park was still open.
We would never consider leaving the park to say go to Applebees for lunch. Way too much time lost. We went to the mall once because I forgot clean socks, and my girlfriend found out her shoes weren't comfortable. But we both wanted to fix our footwear problems than and we were on a 7 day trip.
We really don't eat much. I had various stuff in the hotel room (beef jerky, chips, kripsy kreme donuts, and other generally unhealthy crap, booze and some breakfast stuff). But many times we went this summer...the temperatures made eating warm food just not that appealing.
I enjoy the frozen bananas, and the other thing that comes in 3 colors that them carts sell.
If I could I would run to every ride but it seems running without a sports bra on is not a good idea for girls so I am forced to power walk with her.
Can't get the image of the look of those frozen chocolate bannanas being.....enjoyed by guests.
Though I found it hard to take my attention away from someone eating one JUST for the comedy factor of the :cough: treat.:)

Wait, which McDonalds are we talking about? 250 or the one close to Cedar Point?
And where's the new one??

^ This is the one on 250, not the one right by the park on the Causeway. I was in the new McD's a few weeks ago. It's pretty nice for fast food standards.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
