New to the Force

Hey Everybody, my names Jeremy and I'm a new employee at Cedar Point for 04'. I'm hired to be a ride op for the Millennium Force, and was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what to bring and what to expect from my job or just cedar point advice in general. I'm very excited to work here, as this has always been my favorite ride. I'm also saying hey to all of my new crew mates, and hoping that we can have a great summer. Thanks for the info

You're going to want to start hunting for an apartment, first of all. There's lots of them open in Cleveland, so I'd definitely check that out. You're also going to want to start putting your uniform together. There's lots of pictures on the Cedar Point webpage that shows what they look like for ride ops- study those and then just make sure you copy it as well as you possibly can. Also, make sure you hire a good lawyer, because you're going to need one to get your bonus. Then again, your lawyer fees will probably be more than your bonus...

It's good that you're working MF, because the Magnum is sinking into the ground and I wouldn't want to be around when the sucker finally gets swallowed up. The rest of the park is also very, very crowded and packed uncomfortably. This is because Cedar Point is running out of room and they can't build anything else. This is also why Dragster goes straight up - CP is now designing with the third dimension in mind.

As far as social life goes, be sure to bring lots of board games - popular ones around the Sandusky area seem to be Life and Monopoly. These games are pretty much all there is to do, as there are no bars or clubs in the Sandusky area. The lack of bars is due to the lack of demand - mostly everyone who works at Cedar Point are studious, mature, non-dramatic, wholesome heterosexual Christians who don't need alcohol to have a good time.

Make sure you find an apartment with a humidifier as well, as Lake Erie is well known for being quite dry.

Welcome to the crew, Jeremy! Check out the MF thread that's already been started and meet the rest of our crew:
