New to CP. Housing.

So I'm new to cp. I need a lot of info and there isn't much out there to be honest. First off is there a site with all the housing options, prices, and pictures. I hear the commons are supposed to be the best? If I have a car is there a place to park in the on-point housing? Please help me out there isn't much info. All I know is I got a job in food services/

Check on your review on jobnet it will tell you within a few days where you are working specifically, it will then have housing information. Housing prices are deducted out of your paycheck so you never even see that money lol. onpoint areas dont open until june i believe, i may be wrong. The commons dorms are off point but only right down the road from cedar point they have parking and if you dont feel like driving the cedar point buzz for employees will pick you up however these buses tend to be overcrowded and late. hope that helps

Last year there was a site outlining your different housing options, but if I remember right it wasn't put up until March or April.

I was perfectly happy in Golds, the on-point girls dorms. If you bring your car with you you can park in the Spiral lot where Demon Drop used to be. Cedars/Golds puts you in easy walking distance of work, the employee cafeteria, wardrobe, Soak City. You can sleep later, and also make it back to your room on meal breaks depending on where in the park you work. They aren't air conditioned except for the lounge, but you can bring your own window unit and maintenance will install it for you. Shower shoes are a must. Spiders are unavoidable.

They're small, but hey, they're dorms. I was in my room pretty much only to sleep and shower. I hardly spent any off time in my room, which is why it was worth it for me just to be closer to the park and not stress about what it looked like. So don't let anybody convince you that on-point is impossible to deal with.

That being said, commons might be more up your alley. I don't know. I've never lived there.

I thought about buying a window AC unit and getting a room in Cedars, but ultimately I stuck with Commons. The #1 factor in my decision was just that it felt more centrally located. In the circles I hung out with, the people living on point had a harder time hanging out with people after work simply due to their location. But to each their own.
