Hey Ya'll. I just got my contract and I am processing in on May 20th. This is my first year and I am uber excited. I am working in reservations. My best friend is working somewhere in rides. I can't wait to meet all of ya. I know there is that huge debate on where to live. What are ya personal stories? I want to live in the apartments, but my best friend (who obviously will be rooming with me) wants to be in the dorms. What do ya think eh?
Dorms in my opinion, they are so much more convienent!...and not to mention quiet.

Dorms are a lot more private, and personal. You won't have to worry about being with 13-14 other people you don't know and could possibly clash with.
I think the apartments are fun, though, assuming you get along well with your roommates. The dorms are really tiny, but the apartments have livingrooms so that everyone can hang out. Not to mention the apartments have sinks, refridgerators and stoves (though you can bring your own mini-fridge into the dorms if you want and they have microwaves available).
I think since you are starting out it may be best to go with a dorm (and if you want to stay on-point I think you can get a two-person dorm, that way you and your friend don't have to worry about leaving your stuff around people you don't know). And if it doesn't work out, you can always switch where you are living (provided there is space).
does anyone know how many people to a bathroom in the common DORMS?? Is it one bathroom per floor, or what?

There are actually 2 bathrooms per floor in the 1500 building, im not too sure about the 1400 building cause i havent lived there. With my experience in the dorms, atleast the 1500 building, i wouldn't say its quiet at all. The year i lived therewhich was '02 i think, it seemed like everynight or every other night someone was setting off the fire alarm at like 3 or 4 am. I also know it was the same problem in '03. I wasnt there in '04 to know. Anywho, im done rambling now :)

Dorms! They are cleaned everyday. when you live in the apartments you are responsible for cleaning them yourself.
To me, that's still a toss up. Because although the bathrooms are cleaned everyday in the dorms, there are still some pretty sick people who use them. They are also supposed to be Male/Female only bathrooms and as much as i dont mind females, the bathroom and showers i always seen females in there as well as males, and im sure it was the same way in the female bathrooms. If thats something you can put up with then i guess the dorms would be fine.

i would choose the Apt. Bathrooms because you clean them yourself and you know that they are cleaned right. Last summer in the 1500 bathroom on the first floor there was this nansty bloody tampon in the a stall for like 3 days. not cool dude.

I lived in the dorms, and I don't recall it being very noisy. Also, the bathrooms were always clean and I never had to wait for a shower like I have heard some people say they have. I also never saw a male in our bathroom, maybe I just went in at all the right times.
I have seen some pretty nasty apt bathrooms though. So if you go to an apartment know your roomates cleaning habbits.
