I have read a few of the posts on here and I am still kinda nervous about going away from my home out of state and all. I was wondering when we should start going I mean, leaving to arrive at 6 am would be impossible from where I live and it said my job is on my 7th so does that mean I start working on the 7th or I should be there on the 7th. Also, what if there is a problem with room mates can you switch? is is co ed dorms? what is in the Dorms? like a fridge, tv, what is included? Do I need pillows? can I bring my fish? I have tons of questions!
I have not lived in housing in the past, but I will do my best to answer your questions.
First of all, I would assume that the 7th is your processing date? Is that what it says on your job offer? That would be the day you sign paper work and get checked into housing and what not. If it is your processing date, you do not have to be there that early, but it is recommended since so many people process on the same day. It will take several hours, I promise. So your best bet, would be to get a hotel for the night before and plan on getting to Human Resources as early as possible.
As for housing. To my understanding, it is based on availability. So I think moving around would be hard. I would assume that they DO allow it though. I imagine its not as easy process though. No co-ed dorms to my knowledge, unless you are married....from what I hear. The dorms are like any other dorm. All that is provided is a bed and dressers. No fridge, no TV. I think they provide sheets and pillows, but I would suggest bringing your own.....you never know who's used them. You can't have any animals what so ever.
I hope I helped.
Thanks so much, darn I had hoped to bring my fish, my brother is really unreliable. Yeah you have helped a lot thanks
This is going to be my first year :) The person who hired me said that you need to bring your own bedding and pillows. I also read that the mattresses are plastic covered and that it would be a good idea to get one of those foam mattress cover things to put over it so you don't end up sticking to it!
I'm processing in on June 6th and starting work on the 7th, so if they said to come the 7th..you will probably just be processing in that day and start work the next.

You job confirmation will tell you the day you need to process in at HR. You can switch rooms although it can be a hassle to do. The only housing that is co-ed by floor is commons dorms 1500's. In the dorms you will get, a bed, locker, tv, dresser, chair, and phone for in-park and local calls. You will need to bring a fridge, your own bed linens and pillows. Foam mattress thing is recommended. I wouldn't want to bring my fish anyways, too busy to take care of them. I just left mine with my family.
Oh...you can purchase bed linens from housing but its old hotel linens, so bring your own.

Switching rooms is possible, but they won't let you do it if space is limited or non existent. Sometimes it depends on which housing supervisor you talk to as well. Some people just say no, while others are more accommodating.

For sure. The cheap ones are like $10, and next to the shower sandals, it'll be your best investment for the summer.
You can Check into housing the Day before you Process In... So if You are Suppose to Process in On A Tuesday you can check into housing Monday.... It all really depends on when u process in.... Now once you get to like june it's hard to do it but if you are processing in now or in may you should be able to....
I'm new this year and had a question about processing in. When you drive to Cedar Point on your process in day, where is Human Resources located? I'm planning to be there around 6am, and I'm not sure where I need to go. Thanks for the help everyone.
