New Theming Idea

Yes it is amazing, however, the reference was to Snoopy, not WWI.

The red baron (Manfred von Richthofen) was the greatest ace of WW I. He had 80 kills during his career (in comparison, the highest scoring American, Eddie Rickenbacker had 26). Just a little fun fact for all of you who only know the Red Baron from his dogfights with everyone's favorite cartoon beagle.
Which perfectly explains why Snoopy always flew a British fighter (Sopwith Camel) when battling the imaginary Baron.

But I question if being shot down by Hitler's troops would play to many laughs today. Imagine what a group of neo-Nazi posers might do while standing in the queues...

Nice info Bob! :)

True, but the thread was talking about the Red Baron being a Peanuts character, and many posts (yours included) were worded in a way that sounded like the writer had no idea that the Red Baron was a very famous historical figure and certainly not a fictional creation for Snoopy to have imaginary battles with.

WWI would've been about 30 years before Hilter's reign of terror in WWII. But still the idea of being shot down in an airplane probably isn't going to fly (pardon the pun) if CP caved on the Banshee name. (which to me is still a great name for a coaster and not the least bit offensive)
Actually, it seemed to me this thread from the start was talking about the Baron as he's been used as part of Schultz's Peanuts/Snoopy cartoons. Nowhere did I get the impression that someone thought the Baron was a creation of the late cartoonist's mind. That's just silly.
There already is a ride at Cedar Point called Red Baron look. http://www.virtualmidway.com/rides/redbaron.asp

Thank you, if you'd read the entire thread, you'd see we've already covered that.

Well, the Red Baron idea sounds very close. The red track, the twisting down like the plane is diving, and the red and white track is like a launching pad. If this was the theme, then the station would be Snoopy's doghouse!

But I'm guessing that the name will be something "artistic". I'm saying like a name like Milleniem Force or Chaos. A name that really isn't a real life object, but has a connection with the feel and look of the ride.

"Milleniem Force" is where in the park?
