New Theming Idea

I just came up with a really interesting theming/naming idea for this ride.

As everyone knows, CF has the rights to use the UFS Snoopy characters, as they have Camp Snoopy, Snoopy Rocks on Ice, Etc. What if this ride was themed to the Red Baron, whom I believe is a Peanut's character.

The theme could be that you are in one of those old WWI airplanes, and the launch is a takeoff. At the top of the ride, you get shot down, and you spiral your way towards the ground (the 270 degree twist), before regaining control of the plane at the bottom, and hitting the brake run.

I know that this is probably not what the ride will be, but I think its a creative idea that could be used to theme this coaster, given CF's affiliation with UFS.

Any other creative ideas?

Reb Baron... Peanut's character????

You did? Check out December 17th posts here.

Besides... it's already been shot down (pun intended-nyuknyuk) because there's already a ride called Red Baron in Camp Snoopy.

That doesn't mean anything, ride names can be changed (ex: Ghoster Coaster/Beastie at PKI). I'm not saying I support this silly idea for a name, but there's no law against changing names.

I posted that idea about Red Barron getting shot down and spiraling to the ground with smoke coming out of the back of the train a long time ago at another forum. But like Gravity pointed out, there is already a Red Barron ride. And yes, Red Barron is in Peanuts; Snoopy flys around on top of his dog house like a fighter plane and dogfights with the German "Red Barron" who is always out of the picture. He always said, "Curse you Red Barron!"

My new theming idea was to theme it to the other Snoopy comics about his training for the down hill supper dish event in the olympics. They could call the ride: Snoopy's Down Hill Supper Dish. (Don't think it will happen, but it would be funny.)

In my opinion I would think that they would keep all ride names that have to do with the Peanuts characters in the Camp Snoopy part of the park.
Also, you have to think about who is going to be able to ride it...if they call it the Red Baron, it seems to me that the little kiddies should be able to ride it because it is tied into the Peanuts theme.

This ride will at least have a height requirement of 48", possibly higher. I can't really see the park marketing this ride on a big scale with that name.

Launch: Tophat: Twistage: Brakes...

...Denial is an ugly thing.

I think that, should the Dragster name be true, it would be neat if they had a light tree at the front of the station, light drops to green, the ride op drops the hammer and we be gone baby!!!!!
hehe, that sounds like a sweet idea...

but I cant really imagine having the tallest and fastest coaster in the world themed to snoopy, plus being launched in little airplanes....

I think calling it Red Barron is a great idea. It would be so amazingly funny to see little red bi-planes being launched at 110 mph. Who says that all big coaster need a serious name?

Yeah, that's smart. Let's use themeing tailored to an age group that will likely be physically incapable of actually riding the coaster.

While the name and theme obviously wouldn't effect the awesome intensity of this ride, I doubt many people will be pumped up about riding a coaster themed to a Peanuts character.

plus, like I said, the image that CP would receive for doing that would be......well.....itd be something alright =/
*chuckle chuckle*

Just chuckling at the number of people who think the Red Baron is a fictional creation by Charles Schultz. :)

How about naming the ride based on Linus (?) and Lucy, or whoever it was that would always try to kick the football and then have it pulled away at the last second...the ride could be "us" going to kick the football, flying up in the air when its pulled away, and falling back to the ground....

And maybe they could name the ride "Linus and Lucy's (or whoever and Lucy's) Kiddie Koaster" while they're at it, just to screw with peoples' minds.

If you'd rather walk 10 miles than drive anything but a Ford, you're a moron...but you're probably in shape.

Doesn't everyone know that Red Baron is the name of a frozen food company? http://www.redbaron.com/
Not only that, but a very good one, too.

Lord,

I know better ;) but the way that they were making references to it was in regards to the Snoopy character ;)

Um....Red Baron was part of the Snoopy Bunch. Uh.....he used to dress up as a fighter pilot and chase them around his dog house. Maybe you should watch and read a little before jumping all over people. Just a suggestion.

Heh - telling me to read. Cute. :)

I understand Snoopy had many "battles" or would that be "dogfights" (how many of you get that double reference?) with the Red Baron. However the Red Baron was indeed a real person. He was a German pilot in WWI.

...and remember how Snoopy always flew in the "Sopwith Camel"? That was a real plane too.

Amazing that so many people didn't know they were getting a history lesson when reading Peanuts comics.
