I am not happy about this at all. We looked forward to the types of baked goods in Donut Time. Starbucks doesn't carry anything like what used to be there. I hope this isn't a trend to put chain restaurants in the park.
Well according to their dining guide Donut Time is still up there.

Like Subway, Chick Fil A, Johnny Rockets, Pinks, Panda Express...
I would do a happy dance if a proper Starbucks ended up in the park. Though I cringe at the thought of how much a double mocha would cost...

As far as I know, the location serves as the place for donut production well outside of the stand, and for catering. I doubt it's going anywhere.

Yes, but it's incompetently crafted and incompetently served, in my experience.
Which is probably enough reason to not have an actual Starbucks in the park. My experiences with concessions staff doesn't give me confidence that they could meet the quality of service people expect from Starbucks. And that's pretty sad.

Would it have been so hard to just link the page?

I heard this rumor few weeks ago, but I still wonder about the validity of this claim.

Same here. Especially considering that GateKeeper is listed as a "Bat-Winged" coaster, and the resorts aren't remodeled for this coming season.
If this is true I hope they keep the doughnut production and sell the same baked goods in addition to Starbucks products. Although there is a lot to like about the various Starbucks baked goods, I love the Donut Time cinnamon rolls and jelly doughnuts.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Please don't let this be true. I love Donut Time and would dislike seeing a Starbucks sign in place of the Donut Time sign.
^ To that same degree, there's a massive segment of people who love ordering a familiar product. Hence the reason that Starbucks is everywhere.
I've only ate Donut Time twice myself since it opened, but like Jeff said, it serves the entire resort and I doubt that its going away. That little cart (that seems to be always closed) under Corkscrew can't make all the resorts donuts. :-)
Why the heck would a website like fat wallet be the first to scoop the Starbucks story, if it were true? Stranger things have happened I guess.

Like terrible coffee?

I'm saying I don't like Starbucks. It's overpriced for what it is. It's nothing special that you can't find anywhere outside the park. I would have rather they just kept the donut place and put a Starbucks somewhere else in the park for those that want it.

So, it should fit right in at Cedar Point.

If Starbucks were overpriced, they wouldn't be putting up such impressive financial results, year after year.
And for all the hate Starbucks gets, they serve reliably-good coffee from reliably-friendly staff, and do so at a fairly impressive pace (at least in my experience).
Brandon
Do I personally think its overpriced? Yes, but at the same time, if I were CEO of Starbucks, would I support lowering the price? No, because obviously there is more than enough demand for the product at current pricing. Whether you hate it, think its overpriced, or think its "nothing special",you can't deny that the business model works....and has been working very well for a while now.
I drink coffee every day....I don't drink Starbucks every day, but a couple times a month (especially in the fall...Pumpkin Spice!) I endulge.
