New POV Video in HD

That's a brilliant idea Dvo! We also need a POV of Paddlewheel complete with the corny jokes and a laugh reel.

Wouldn't a reverse-reverse just be a forward?

I am eagerly awaiting Disaster Transport's Reverse POV in HD. ;)

HAHA! Ok, I like that one; that was funny. You guys are killing me here, with all of the silly rides in reverse! While we're at it, maybe I can go to the cedar point parking lot and tape my car going in reverse. I can then add that "tinny" noise Tony was talking about, too, and put it on a soundtrack on cassette! Woo, I can't wait to see the graphics on this baby!

We have some killer ideas here! We can make a fortune off of it and label it like......

"Cedar Point is proud to bring you "Coaster Geeks: Gone Wild!" Have you ever wondered what it's like to view the world as seen through the eyes of a coaster enthusiast? Well now you can with this 2 part box set!
Such classic videos on this DVD include: Reverse POV's of Sir Rub-A-Dub's Tubs. Experience never before seen, high whyte water action shot in stunning 720p HD video!! A picture soooo clear you'll actually believe you're traveling .3 miles per hour and you're bored out of your mind!

Let's also not forget the sweet sounds that we've all come to love. Such songs include:
Monster Midway Invasion Celebration
A 4 minute loop of "Arms Down"
The older spiel from Power Tower
"Ready to go" by Republica
and many many more.

This DVD box set will not be sold in store so buy it before it's gone faster than you can say "I just paid what for a chicken basket?!!". And call now in the next 17 seconds and we'll throw in an actual bolt from some part of Demon Drops structure. A deal soooo good it'll make you say wow 3 times!
This offer won't last forever so call now!!

Just pay separate shipping and handling."

:)

Well I would never ride these coasters backwards after watching these videos. ;)

OnPointTony's avatar

You're not supposed to ride them backwards :) Hence the alternative view.

We've got a few more interesting shots planned for 2010.

I like the way the camera is focused on that reverse pov of Millennium Force. It reminded me right away of some tilt-shift time lapse videos I've seen. Was that intentional?

The Millennium reverse POV is really slick. Awesome video.

Since I was working Raptor the weekend the POV was shot I was actually on that train! You can hear yacking on the lift that was us in the front row!!

Also for those paying attention--no block brake!!! :)
Yeah for cold windy mornings and light trains!!!

Tony--so where is the Raptor reverse POV???

Lifetime Raptor flights: 2175 :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

OnPointTony's avatar

There isn't one. There was too much yacking on that particular train and it got too loud. ;)

Actually, we never shot one because of time. We plan on getting some much better ones in the spring when we receive the newer cam.

To keep us satisfied of course! I mean would you like us bothering YOU almost everyday for certain things?

It's like throwing a leg of meat into a pit of ravenous wild dogs. Except instead, the meat is the POVs, the blog (etc) and we're the wild dogs.;)

No I would not like that lol. I was just asking this from a business standpoint.

Well, it's quite simple really. My job is to make sure that guests remain interested in Cedar Point even when they're not here. POV videos are a great way to "take the park with you" at home...to experience a ride that you love all over again. It may not be the same feeling, but it's the next best thing.

Not to mention it's pretty cool what we can now do with video cameras that size.

We do hope to make them all available for download for your portable video playing device in 2010.

And to think... for years I've been trying to come up with a way to take CP home with me. Thank you, Mr. Clark. You have made my job that much easier. ;)

I thinks it is cool for the pov! It keeps me entertained while the winter is here! I have an idea! If we had the money, it would be cool to make a mini indoor Cedarpoint on the old Geauga Lake land that way we can enjoy more rides all year and maybe some coasters too! Just a crazy thought! But I know I would go there for sure! Its only 40 minutes form my house and I would not be going through coaster withdrawl like I am now!

Just watch the pov's with a set of vr glasses on and put a fan in front of you.
