New policy for re-entering the park

The color does change.. I've gotten hit with yellow, violet, green, and blue so far... and it USED to be that they stamped your hand.. now it's the inside of your arm... which is really annoying, I guess it's to shut people up about "what if I wash my hands?" (Btw.. that stuff won't wash off unless you're scrubbing with a Brillo pad in the bathroom).
I don't think you need to worry about losing your stamp in Soak City if you have a season pass. More than likely, there will be some ink remaining, and you can always show your pass...it won't scan again, so it becomes a judgement call on the part of the person operating the gate, but there is nothing to keep those people from being reasonable enough to handle that particular exception. Honestly, I don't see what all the fuss is about. Again, the policy is no different than that used by dozens of other parks, it makes perfect logical sense, and most of the people I've talked to about it outside this forum didn't even know they *could* re-scan the passes in any given day. As for the handstamps on the inside of the arm...As long as they keep it down by my wrist instead of clear down by my elbow where I can't get it under the light, I think I actually prefer them stamping there. In the past I have noticed that those handstamps seem to cause the back of my hand to sweat like crazy, but I don't get that same reaction on the inside of the wrist. I wonder if the decision to start stamping on the inside of the wrist has anything to do with Cedar Point's incredible popularity among coaster nuts on vacation, who, because of the durability of those handstamps, may enter the park with two or three stamps already....! --Dave Althoff, Jr.
I had mine come off once in Soak City. They just had me show them my pass without scanning it. Earlier this year I remember reading something that said the pass could only be used once a day, so I've always got a stamp.

Well, that used to be the policy for Six Flags parks(I think...or at least SFA), before the workers just beame too apathetic to even scan the card. Now I'm not eve sure if its policy to scan the card.
I can honestly say I've always gotten stamped this year (my first CP Pass) mainly because at PKI they only scan once, and I just assumed it was the same there. Well, I guess you're never to old to learn something new, even though I'm not that old.

Yeah, Six Flags theoretically lets you in with a season pass once per day. However, at the two Six Flags parks I've hit so far this year (Ohio and America) they barely glanced at it, let alone scanned it. This is the first year I've gotten a SF pass.

Cedar Point at least scans the thing ;)

The stamps are pretty durable, and don't wash off THAT easily, but I've never had a problem removing one when I wanted to. Just take a little rubbing alcohol...

The policy at Disney World is that they ALWAYS scan your pass at the gate, but if you are re-entering you must also have a handstamp. I have never been able to figure this out because their card readers do not appear to have any kind of indicator that says "oops you have already used your pass in this park today" Disney's system is not really setup for high security, what with all the places one can go with just one pass. However Cedar Point has obviously seen a need for additional security. I personally really enjoyed the fact that I did not have to deal with the messy hand stamps (it was just one more reason to get a season pass) but it is really not that big of a deal to me, as long as I can get back in somehow.

I always thought they stamped the inside of your forearm to get a clean stamp without "hair interference" - which could be a problem for a lot of guys.

Three SF parks so far this year, and one more to go. At Six Flags Great America, the girl scanned my pass, red lights flashed and buzzers buzzed. She looked at the pass, looked at me, shrugged and let me in.

Rescanning a pass in a system that cannot track re-entries also would lead to an artificial inflation of the park's attendance. So if you enter the park three times, that's essentially your per capita spending divided by three people. If you're following me here, it doesn't look quite as good come financial statement time. That's what I immediately thought of yesterday when I was so rudely told for the first time that I needed to have my hand stamped.

With todays technology, how hard is it for a computer system to detect a 2nd entry of a pass in one day and therefore not include it in the attendance? On a side note, back in my juvenile days at SFGAm (about 12 years ago) we used to do a thing called lick-em and stick-em. A passholder would enter the park, turn around and get the hand stamped, walk out to the car with a buddy that didnt have a pass and procede to lick the stamp and press it on the others hand giving free entry for the non passholder into the park. **NOTE**, I dont condone this today but I thought I would share what I did back in my teenage years.
I thought about that when I had my hand stamped on my trip, but the other two people I was on the trip with had payed regularly to get into the park, so we just basically joked about it. Though, I wonder if it could work.

Does anybody remember the Blues Traveler video for "Runaround"? Classic example of the so-called "lick-em and stick-em" approach.

WHOO!
I'm pretty sure it works. I got in line for the Disaster Transport, and like 6 hours after I got my hand stamped, I was still able to rub it all over.

It never has been complicated. You look at your record set and remove duplicates. The magic of data mining...
