His comment WAS made toward the content. Truly, what's the difference between wanting more content and the "give us more" mentality? Nothing.

I never said there was a difference between "more content" and "give us more." I said there was a difference between being critical of the product and the attitude of it not being enough.

A similar comparison would be an enthusiast giving an opinion about a ride, and an enthusiast complaining about not having enough ERT on the ride at some coaster event.

Don't you mean, where doesn't this happen? OK, maybe that's a bit extreme but really Walt, it happens often and I know you're not that naive that you don't see it.

I have never read a post where Jeff says if he thinks something sucks, so should everyone else. If I missed it, please give me a link. He may make a pointed comment, that when read by some people, gets twisted into something it's not, but I don't recall ever seeing, "you must think like me." Maybe you don't care for his tone or personality, but don't use that to change the meaning of the words in a post.

And that is a perfectly good response to a complaint about not having enough content, but that was most certainly not how Jeff put it.

He was more direct than that example, but who cares? We all have different personalities and styles. This is really about the person, not the post. If I had made that comment, it would not have generated the same level of furor. But since you don't like his conversation style, you read more into what he writes.

I hope you're using the word "you" as a general term for multiple people because it's obvious that I wasn't the only one that felt this way.

I just can't comprehend how someone who runs a business thinks it's OK to speak to his/her customers like this. Whether he's right or wrong, to the point or overly courteous, you still should never speak to or about your customers in the manner he does.

I can promise you that there would be many more members of Coasterbuzz if Jeff took a lesson in courtesy. Hell, I would even pay to remove the ads from this site rather than using add ons for Firefox if I could find something I didn't disagree with him about.

Jeff, you may very well be a terrific person but sometimes two people's personalities don't coexist very well. I'm willing to accept this and move on. I'm only making this point in hopes that you could see that a small change may make a huge difference in your life and business. Take it for what you will, I'm not a counselor, nor did you ask for it other than by replying in the manners that you do.

As you can see I was trying to be helpful in more than one thread and all I get is berated. I got your Boo Hoo right here.

Ride on, MrScott!

Vince982,

Not arguing against you, and I didn't take that personally...I wasn't complaining in the slightest bit. I was truly and honestly surprised that they did make one, I said that because I didn't think they had enough material to cover for a pointcast. Again, late March at the earliest.

I personally like the construction diary more, actually. It gets a little more technical, which I think is interesting.

While that might be an example of you not liking his tone, it's not an example of him saying you must agree with him.

I'm done talking about Jeff. No offense to him, but I'd much rather talk about Cedar Point. All you did in your last post was show that you have a problem with his personality. It's OK if you don't like it, or don't agree with it, or don't think it's good for business, etc. But I can also recognize when someone makes the leap to reading into a post beyond what it is.

After reading your post in the referenced thread, I could easily come to similar conclusions about you that are made about Jeff, if I made that same leap. The difference is that you're not the one running the web site.

I agree with you 100%. But again, like Walt said too up there, if there wasn't a new PointCast until March, dozens of members here would complain.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

But yet, your still here.

And that is why business isn’t hurting.

Jeff's not all that bad. Sure he can be abrasive and short, but we all have that flaw from time to time. He's sort of the cranky uncle in the Pointbuzz family.

We all bring our personality quirks and eccentricities to this forum. (Except me, of course!) So let's all just try to get along and write this off to a dysfunctional family breakdown. ;)

99er gets it. Thank you.

I say what's on my mind. I say what I think of other people's opinions and behavior, but I don't frequently (and I won't say ever, because I'm not taking inventory) say things like, "You're a big jerk and you hate puppies." I don't know any of you well enough to make that assertion. So when I call you out on something, like whining, I do so in the context of your posts on this site. You can be a puppy hater on your own time, but if you don't do it here, I don't care.

So you can say I'm abrasive in my comments on this site, but don't pretend you have any idea how I am "IRL" or what my issues are. You don't know. Know the difference.

Can we please talk about something else?

For the love of God! Does no one realize what Tony and Tyler went through to create this new video?!?!

They braved weather soooo fierce, they completely forgot their own names by the end of the video. Don't believe me? Watch it again!

You people owe them much more respect than you give them. They do it all for you!

-Lusty Lil

Wow, I never noticed before that they said each other's names at the end.

99er,

I'm not quite sure how I'm contributing to his business when I don't contribute to his website and I don't belong to his coaster club. It doesn't cost me anything to post here.

I've never even seen an ad on this site let alone clicked on one.

If it ever cost me something to post here I'd find a new home.

I agree that it's odd they would make a Pointcast this soon, and not wait untill there are a few more things. Seriously, it's a lot of trouble for them to have to go through.

Since I won't be the one moaning about no PointCast there'll be no need to tell me what will happen. ;)

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

TTD 120mph's avatar

They did it soo early because they were probably flooded with requests to do one.;)

-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut

Well one thing they should be glad about is the fact that they did it before this windchill weekend. It's been freezing in Northeast Ohio.

Yeah- I noticed that at the end too. Tyler calls himself Tony and Tony calls himself Tyler. I don't know about you- but I don't think I've ever forgotten my name before... weird

^ I have but there was alot of Takillya I mean Tequila involved.
