New Picture

Ummm.....I thaught the bleachers were going to be bigger!? They don't look too big from the pic!

I think they are going to install the shade things in a few days. But they might want you to have a good view of the tower to keep you interested while you're in line. If they don't put them in they should still have them near the station because by then you would have watched it enough it and only had a little bit longer to wait. But if they don't put them anywhere there are still tons of misters as you can see in the pictures.

No shade, lots of metal, lots of black and silver (Go Raiders!)... I'll withhold judgment until it's finished, but it looks HOT (and I do mean temperature).

I, to, am liking the sign. I really believe that Cedar Point has pulled out all of the stops on this one, and I do mean all of the stops.

An uncovered queue that size doesn't seem right to me, so put me on the list that there will be shade.

Has anyone given any thought to what it's going to be like for the employees? Only half the station is really well covered, so the ops on the right side of the train will spend most of their time in the sun. The same goes with those working the unload. I'd bet they'll have some ops on the left (inner side) of the train, prepping the train much like on Millennium Force. Those metal platforms aren't the best to stand on for too long. I worked on the Giant Wheel in '01, which has something similar. It got brutal at times.

Don't the ride ops rotate every so often? I would also think they will have some cool jump suits and a baseball type cap to help them out.
I was looking at the picture inside the station and it looks like there is a longer queue (did I spell it right?) for the front seat. I hope this means you can wait for the front seat because after all, I am Front Seat Rider!

Notice you can see a train right after the twist in the "View of hill from entrance queue" pic. It lends a perspective as to how big this thing is. The food stand is looking really slick - better than what I thought it would be. And that entrance sign looks awsome - almost an M.C. Escher look to the flames. I'm going to pick up my Season Pass and get it processed today!

Some great looking photos, I didn't realize how close the station was to the Power Station. Now I'm liking it even more, walking under Corkscrew and seeing that whole area transformed, I can't wait.

The sign looks great and everything is coming together very nicely, now they just need to put up a cool looking sign for Magnum.

When I was at cedarpoint a couple years ago I was in the line for magum and they had a DJ.
New Pictures are awesome! The queue lines are in between the ride in the gap. Never thought it would be like that. The picture of the car testing is awesome. Whats the deal with the Cedar Point Dragway is that suppose to be a food stand?

You must be new to the forums. That is the grandstand which has been talked about. They are going to install a food service area under them....just like you would see at a regular drag strip.

I'm not sure who, but someone asked if there would be a seperate line for people who wanted to wait for the front...and if this rides line is anything like the line for Xcelerator, and it looks like it is...yes you will be able to wait for the front if you want to. However, the lines moves extremely slow compared to the rest of the line, (another 20 minutes, depending on the line) obviously, because the line moves in groups of 4, whereas the rest of the line moves 16 people at a time.

I would hope, since they put in Freeway last year. That the line is better designed to handle it (and the front line).

Plus, because of it having "stadium" seating, I think the second row will have a better view anyway. Atleast it is on MF!

Cedar Point Dragway??? Oh my god, what a completely uncreative name. But the entrance sign looks neat. Better than the MF or the horrible WT. The queue is extremely boring, because you're going to be watching a train go up and down a hill many times for hours. The station is the second best themed part of the ride, behind the trains. I love its clam shelled roof. The bleacher seats is a fabulous seating area for a meal. It'll be like a real drag race. My mom works for a company that makes parts for cars, and dragsters. So I go to drag races all the time. I hope the ride isn't as ear shattering as real drag races.

I totally disagree with you, Superman: Ultimate Escape. Cedar Point Dragway sounds very creative and works well with the themeing. I LOVE the sign for MF. and WT. The queue might be a little boring but that is why they put the computer coaster quiz things in the line.

Race For The Sky!
I agree with montu about the employees suffering in the weather. True they work shifts but its still going to be miserable. You have the sun which can get really hot in mid day and you also have rain. They will have to be wearing ponchos.

The ride is looking great. One thing I dont like about the queue is the area that is closest to the station where the storage tracks are. That seems veryt tight and you better hope your not closterphobic(sp?). One side you have this tall fence and on the other side you have a tall black gate. No plants or anything in that area. I dont know, just seems a little tight.

Can we PLEASE stop complaining how boring the line is going to be? I mean, what do you guys do in other lines when you have to wait? Think about it it...its not that big of a deal... talk to girls in line (or boys for some of you), talk to friends (I'm hoping you people dont go alone), you dont need to be entertained every second of you trip. Thats what the rides are for. If you dont like the line because its boring TS!- dont go on the ride!

Good form steelrider. someone needs to call the whaaaaaaaaaaambulance! really TTD has cool things in the line that you can't even see yet and aren't in the line yet. CP opens to the public on the 4th. by then most if not all! the theme will be done and in place. Cedar Point hasn't been open for over 130 years because they miss deadlines and have no idea how to build things. c'mon give'em alittle more credit then that!

------------------
Besides the great rides and being the best of everything, the best part about Cedar Point is that it isn't Six Flags! YAY!
