new off site dorms?

i went to cedar point today and i noticed survey markings and small piles of dirt next to the on site dorms by the causeway. My prediction is that the are going to build a new dorm building and tear down the cedar dorms for future development.

Could be. I think I'd be more surprised if Cedars WAS there in three years than if it was not.

I'm going to cedar point next Monday and I will try to get some pictures

That old warehouse by Lyman harbor was just tore down. Cedar Point might build new dorms there.

I noticed that was torn down and thought I remembered that CP owned it. Did they?

the dirt piles and survey markings were between the dairy queen and a dorm building and it was surounded by a fence and where was the warehouse torn down?

I don't know if cedar point owned the warehouse but I do know that up until recently it was for sale.

Cedar Point used to keep merchandise in that warehouse, I don't know if they owned it or leased space. I don't think the demolition has anything to do with a CP project though, there is a sign on the site advertising prime waterfront land for sale.

Even if a property has sold or is in the process of being sold, a real estate broker will often keep a sign up because they have other property available elsewhere.

I heard a rumor that at the end of this season Gold is being demolished with Cedars coming down next year. Not sure if this is true, but I could see it happening.

What are they buildings for that are around the gold dorms? Because those could also be torn down for a future ride or something

The building under the water tower is the laundry and employee wardrobe and the other buildings are used for maintenance and repair. The vehicle service garage and gas pumps are also there.

Yes, having worked in that building near the water tower in the 2005 season, I can confirm that building is used for wardrobe and linen services. I was in the linen services and we had to clean all sheets and towels from the hotel and all tablecloths from park restaurants, and all employee uniforms.

I'm sorry about the uniforms...I know my sweat a few times was enough to turn me away..can't imagine a tub of all of them

I was on the second shift, the first shift mostly did the uniforms. I never touched them. We had to wear gloves when touching the hotel sheets, so I'm sure the same thing applied to handling uniforms.

^ You probably don't want to know. Good thing they had special bags if someone barfed or wet the bed. They would dissolve in the washer.

Nothing earth-shattering, but here are a few photos:

Also, here are the plans as filed with the City of Sandusky.
