New Midway Idea

One thing I would like to see come from #16 is a new midway. Where you ask? Connecting the Magnum midway to the Frontier Trail. To me it seems that maybe PE might be rerouted a little bit, so why not connect the areas around the "tophat" and bring it down past ID & Mantis towards Cedar Junction. It would be SO nice not to have to walk all the around the trail or all the way around corkscrew to get to the other side of the park. Maybe I'm just dreaming, but it would be nice.

Yes, that would be very very very nice. It would also cut down on the mass of people under the screws.
that would be soo hot....cuz when you enter from the resorts...it takes SOO long to walk around the lagoon.

Maybe I am in the minority. I happen to like how the park is set up. The long walk through frontier town makes it all that much better for me.

I fool so feelish...

I love the idea, but what about the stupid GP? The ones that have a problem walking through the park and knowing where they are. I saw some lady point at corkscrew the other day and ask her husband/bf if it was Millennium Force. I don't know if they could handle finding the back of the park if they put a midway there.

There are a few things that could solve that, like signage. I love the ones at Dorney that have the coaster logos on them and point which way to go.

Then again, there is only so much midway to build rides etc on. A new one may be necessary in the future.

What about another skyride? Or Paddlewheel having 2 stations like the railroad? That could get people across and cause less confusion.

I think the GP are a little more intelligent than the peeps on RCT...mind you I say a little, but they could handle it.

Man, I forgot about that in RCT. They can't find anything. I should have stopped using the trainer!

I agree that the GP are, a little, smarter. I guess I just like the fact that CP has a very simple layout, which is almost foolproof in getting people through the whole park.

Man, I gotta agree. Getting from MF to Gemini - something the wife and I do near the end of every night we're at CP - is the longest walk in the business. I'd love a shortcut ...

Some sort of transportation... not necesarily walking would be great. A sky lift in b/w witches wheel and monster over to the other side of the park would be excellent. The midway idea is a good thought Dan.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"

I'm another one of those people who say to leave it the way it is now. The lagoon has a special place in the park by means of seperating the sections. I would not like to see that area of the park touched any more then a couple roller coasters. I don't even like the idea of roller coasters being there. I see the best amusment park in the world having some nature in the blue prints.
Maybe it's just me, but wouldn't it be nice to wind back through the trees over the lagoon and avoid all the people around Corkscrew, Wildcat/Iron Dragon, etc...

The path wouldn't need to be that big (maybe even a floating bridge over the lagoon).

I would love to see a new midway connecting the trail with the Magnum area of the Gemini Midway. I think someone said before, "It's going to be a new lift to the frontier trail..." that'd be cool to se that back in action.

I also think a connector of some sort between the two midways would be nice. It would allow for easier access to Camp Snoopy from the other side, as well as the other coasters. Parents with small children (who tire easily) and us old folks would appreciate not having to walk all the way around.

Dan, I think it's a brilliant idea! Here's to Dan being the newest member of the P & D department ;)

I'm all for it. Build a pair of bridges over each side of the lagoon and have a nice wooded path in between. Where do I sign?

As much as this is probably a good idea and I wouldn't mind seeing it happen, I can't keep myself from saying Mr. Kinzel's three favorite letters over and over in in my head. R-O-I...R-O-I... :)

Here's the R.O.I. - reduced travelling time back and forth to the Red Garter at night. All that walking around the lagoons seriously cuts into our drinking time ... and their beer sales ...

Hmmm.... Return on Investment. Well think of it this way.... A whole new area to put various shops, eateries, etc. as well as a nice area to check out the park surroundings as MF whizzes by your head.

I had thought about this before and since they dont want to get rid of PWE then they could put in a couple of draw bridges.

The boats aren't that tall... an arched bridge would work just fine (not to mention they don't break).
